school pics

Posted Thursday March 22 2007, 9:45 pm

Are you allowed to smile with your mouth closed in school pictures?

Because I don't like my teeth/smile

I smile with my lips, yeah? And the person always says smile and I end up looking stupid in pictures. :|

I know this may seem stupid but i would like my mother to actually buy school photos? I've been through the yearbook and half of the people don't even smile.. but they always bother me to.. and they always say it's not good enough.. which makes me try hard to be -> =D

Ugh, I don't know what to do!

Posted Tuesday March 20 2007, 6:18 pm

Ok, well, this year I'm doing softball for my school. & This is my 2nd year playing softball on a team. Well, plain and simple: I suck. And, just about everybody on the team notices. I feel like quitting, because I can hear all the comments everybody makes. I really want to do a sport, it just feels like I don't belong or something, because everybody else has done this sport for more then 3 years. This is fastpitch-and I'm not used to that AT ALL!!!!! There's 2 snobby seniors on the team, if that helps [I'm a freshman]....& Sure, I do have some friends...just about 3ish maybe? It sucks.

To sum it all up, I feel like quitting because I'm not really good...& I'm being made fun of.

So my questi...

How do you know the difference between ' & " ?

Posted Friday March 16 2007, 4:10 pm

Okay, so when writing a paper for english class, how do we know when to use just one of these ' rather than two of them ("). Like when you write something you would use air quotes around while speaking it, do you just use one mark (the apostrophe mark) or two (the quotation mark) around the term. Such as in The Taming Of The Shrew they talk about taming someone. Since you technically can't tame somebody, would you write tame like 'tame' or like "tame"?

Do you catch my drift?

SAT's

Posted Friday March 16 2007, 4:07 pm

Ever since the new SAT's have come out (with the new scoring and stuff) I'm really confused as to what's considered good. I got a 1710 and I know it's not bad, but is it good? Also, how many times should I retake it? I'm a junior and I took it at the end of January. My councilor (who seriously doesn't know what she's talking about half the time) said that I should take it in the begining of my senior year that was colleges get an updated score and that's what they want. Is that true? The reason I doubt her is because she's told students they're not good enough to get into certain colleges and then the students end up getting full rides there. (Like one of my friends and UNC Chapel Hill.) Also she doesn't let students take the classes they w...

end of class

Posted Wednesday March 14 2007, 8:07 pm

This problem is dumb, I know - but I've been thinking about it. Today at the end of my last period class, maybe 10 minutes or so before the bell was going to ring, my class finished our work or whatever and were done with what we were going to do for the day. Usually our teacher lets us just get up out of our seats and talk to our friends. I don't know if she said this or not flat out to the class, but apparently she didn't want us to move around out of our seats today. A couple of minutes later I kind of glanced out of the corner of my eye that she told this guy to go back to his seat after he had moved. I looked up at the clock a little bit after that and it was like, a minute before the bell was going to ring. My friend told me from acro...
