Bleaching my hair platinum blonde Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 2:51 pm
Dear Advicenators, I have auburn hair with freckles, and pale skin but I do tan. I really love the way Lindsey Lohan's hair was when it was bleached. I want Christina Aguilera's hair color. How can I dye my hair this color but keep my hair healthy?
Yes, I have dyed my hair and bleached my hair before, but I think that the dye is completely washed out by now. (It was semi-permanent.)
My mom isn't a hairdresser but she does know a lot about hair and her best friend is a hairdresser so she usually gets the professional things, but I will go to a solon if you insist.
I came across on this answer on a google search:
"I would say go to sally beauty supply and buy ...

AT&T Messaging Plans. Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 11:29 am
My family and I are on AT&T and have the 4th plan on this page (Messaging Unlimited for Families):
http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/services/services-list.jsp?catId=cat1470003&LOSGId=&catName=Messaging+and+MEdia(TM)+Bundles
My question is, it says that we have unlimited IM, but do you get charged when you go on AIM as a separate charge? Like, do you get charged a separate charge because it's the Internet or what? I know when you use the Internet, it's charged by the kilobyte or whatever, is it the same for AIM since we don't have an Internet package?
My family just got the plan a few months ago, and we've never had one before, so we don't know much about it.
Thanks!
-Laura.

Girlfriend potential? Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 6:06 am
This is kind of a weird question. Wasn't sure where to categorize it.
I'm 24/f. I've met this guy and I've known him for a little over two years. I really enjoy his company, and I really like him. I know he likes me too, that isn't really the problem. The problem is, I live like 4 states away, so we usually see each other every 2 months. Well, the last time I saw him was in March '09. He has a really good job, and so it's hard for him to take time off work. The thing is.. like I want this to go further. He asked me if I'd move down to where he lives, and I said yes. I really want this to happen, but I don't know how to approach him about it. I want to be his girlfriend, but I also don't know how to bring it up. I feel like I'...

How to wash socks and keep them feeling soft like new Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 2:55 am
Ok here's my problem. When I first buy socks they usually feel soft, flexible and all of that...but after washing them they begin to feel tighter when I put them on and don't feel as soft as a brand new pair of socks. It's almost like they get thinner, too! Is it because I use a washing machine? Is it the detergent I use? Is there something I can do about it?

Looking for books similar to Eragon by Christopher Paolini Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 2:48 am
I'm looking to start a new series or trilogy similar to Eragon. I want something adventurous and exciting, but not too much like Tolkien. I love Harry Potter, but I'd like something a bit more mature. Are there any websites or online book clubs that recommend new books weekly maybe? Could someone recommend a new book series similar to Eragon?

Making Sims 2 families into Sims 3 families Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 2:40 am
I am considering buying the Sims 3 but I have one very specific question about the game.
Can you transfer characters from the Sims 2 to the Sims 3 game if you have both of them installed? I like my Sims 2 families and would like to be able to add them to my Sims 3 game without having to remake them entirely, if possible...

2009 Miley Cyrus / Hannah Montana tour dates Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 2:37 am
Does anyone know if Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel, and daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus) is planning on having a tour in 2009? It seems like I heard something on the radio about Miley Cyrus 2009 tour dates but I missed majority of the information.
If so, can someone please let me know what the tour dates are for Miley Cyrus this year?

What song is playing at the start of the credits in Wall-E? Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 2:15 am
I watched Wall-E last night and I totally loved it! Wall-E is really such a great movie! :D
Anyway, there's a song that is playing right that the beginning of the credits. The song actually plays before the scrolling actually starts (know what I mean?).
It says something about coming down to the ground. It talks about the future chosen, escaping routine, and says something about the mountains, rivers, birds singing, seeing the trees or something. It's a man's voice.
Anyone know the name of it and who sings it?

Songs to share with my boyfriend Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 1:54 am
I really want to have a special song with my boyfriend and he thinks it's a neat idea too. We both tried to think of neat songs to "have" together but we're not coming up with much, really.
We've thought about:
"The dance" by Garth Brooks
"You're still the one" by Shania Twain
"Remember when" by Alan Jackson
"Holding you holds me together" by Gretchen Wilson
"I'll Look After You" by The Fray
"Truly Madly Deeply" by Savage Garden
"Lovesong" by The Cure
...but nothing is really sticking as a great song to have together. :\
Does anyone have a good suggestion for our song together?

When to change the oil in my car Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 1:45 am
I just got my first car and I totally love it but I don't really know anything about cars. I know that from time to time there is work that needs to be done to them like oil changes (and more than that, I'm sure).
Anyway, how do I know when my car needs an oil change?

If the world ended, what would you carry around with you to survive? Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 1:00 am
I am writing a short story and it's going to be about the end of the world, basically. In the story, the main character is going to reveal items he has stashed in his backpack he's been carrying around for this journey, but I'm sort-of clueless on things he should bring along with him.
So, the world has practically ended. It is now a time that people must fend for themselves. There are no running stores or even gas stations. People have sorted through left-behind homes and are surviving day-to-day, but it's still a fairly new concept so people are still trying to grasp onto the society they did have. Sometimes that means people carry around items that have no "value" to them other than sentimental.

I had that same joke played on me-what's the proper response? Posted Monday June 8 2009, 5:04 pm
17 yr old girl.
I was just reading in your archives about the girl who had the guy put the sticker pic of his face on her toilet paper as a practical joke, and that hit home for me, because I had a guy play the same joke on me.
I didn't get mad or anything, as a matter of fact, I kinda thought it was funny in a weird way, but one thing made me really uncomfortable about that, and I wanted to know your opinion about it-what's the proper way to respond to that joke, in terms of what you do with the picture? I sat there and thought and thought about that...part of me thought that since he chose to stick the sticker pic on toilet paper then I should honor his choice and use it, plus that might teach him a lesson.....
