moving and shyness

I'm moving this summer to a different city and i'll just be starting 9th grade.
I'm really nervous when it comes to meeting new people. I'm scared they won't like me or think i'm ugly or annoying. It's hard for me to make new friends since i'm so shy.
How can I make friends and overcome my shyness?

For school, I have to write a creative piece about the book "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." Examples of what I could do are write a letter from one character to another, add an additional chapter at the end of the book, or rewrite a scene from a different point of view. However, none of those work with this book very well. Any ideas?

civil rights project

I'm doing a project on the Civil Rights Movement for my U.S. history class. We have to create a magazine filled with articles, pictures, etc. It also has to have a title relating to the topic. Any good ideas for a title? And also, does anyone know any good websites for political cartoons relating to this topic? Thanks!

This is going to be long and I'm sorry for that, but can someone please help me? I swear that I'm a grammar freak so it will be easy to read =X.
I'm 14/f in 9th grade and I'm the kind of girl that has various crushes for a short time. I'd like a guy for less than a month than move on and forget about him. citing an encyclopedia

we had this project and we have to cite our sources. i used a Funk & Wagnalls New Encyclopedia as one of my sources. it doesn't really say who the author is/are, so should i put Funk & Wagnalls as the author or just leave that blank?

It is a criticism of many population ecologists that the pattern of population increase and subsequent crash of the deer population would have occurred even if the bounty had not been placed on the predators.
In my science class we are supposed to say whether or not we agree with the sentence above. One problem, what does it mean? I dont get it.

I'm failing my Algebra 2 class!
I do my homework everynight. I pay attention in class. I take notes. I ask questions. But I do TERRIBLE on tests. I got a 65 on one and a 48 on another!
What should i do?

This Guy

So theres this guy at my school and his moms girlfriend is really mean and so she grounds him all the time and his mom cant do anything about it, so anyways people are saying he got expelled cuz he had a knife and theres a whole bunch of rumors and he hasnt been to school for like 3 days, and i dont usually listen to rumors but i think he did, and i REALLY like him, but if hes expelled ill never see him again because i wont see him at school or on the bus and he will most likely be grounded, and im moving so we wont ever go to the same school. But how will i know if he really got expelled and how do i not be depressed about it. Because im really upset. :{ sorry this is so long.

for my project in school i'm doing a report on france, and we have to bring in food from our coutry to feed about 35 kids in the class and i have no idea what to bring! i already tried google but i didn't find anything, i was thinking french fries but i don't think those are really french lol.. does anyone know any simple and easy recipies to make from france? Anatomy grade and finals

Hi. I am a 16 year old student who has a Anatomy and Physiology Exam coming up in about two weeks...and I'm not ready. I just found out recently that I have a 70 in his class. He doesn't give extra credit and we haven't been doing any quizzes or test in his class lately. I really need to pull up my grade. Last progress report, i had a 79, so I am wondering how it dropped so low.....so fast. Anyways, i was wondering if anybody here is really good at Anatomy and Physiology and could help me out. Like, I was wondering if maybe someone could help me study, or give me some study tricks about science....anything would really help.
