I have been out of work almost 6 months... What next?

Posted Sunday October 9 2011, 7:46 pm

I have been out of work almost 6 months, I am 20/F and only ever worked in retail. I left my job without notice because I was being harrassed and bullied at work by a manager and I am not the sort to seek action about it. What was done was done and I just want a new job, that is full time on a till and dealing with the public.

I am on Job seekers and applied for 24 jobs so far, which is basically the whole town where I live and I am running out of options. I am stuck at my nan's and can't do half the things I would like to.

The only other talent I have is writing and occasionally answering posts on here if I think I can help. However I have problems finishing stories.

What can I do now?

Should I keep trying to contact?

Posted Wednesday September 14 2011, 11:07 am

Hello, I recently attended a job fair at my university. A radio station was there and they were displaying job openings for a promotions assistant. I am only a freshman, with a major in Public Relations and I really want this job. I talked to the woman at the desk and she told me to "apply online". Of course, I did just that immediately when I got home . While I was talking to her, I asked her for the name of someone there that I could try and reach. A day or two after my application, I called and spoke with the name of the man she told me. We talked for a short time and he asked for my contact information and told me he'd contact me when they started doing interviews. After we got off the phone, I typed him a formal letter and se...

i'm scared to work

Posted Monday September 12 2011, 7:36 pm

i don't know... i am 18, and i eagerly wanna have work but i'm scared. i think that what scares me are the consequences.

i am a college student, i love my course and i'm a digital artist. my parents send me money(my allowance) every two weeks "BUT" it doesn't really fit me for my two weeks living, i always run out of money and i really do need a job. i have no any experiences yet. idk i'm just scared. having not enough income affects everything, my house bills
and my schools projects...

if i ever found a very good job i'd probably stop studying already. and focus on that job. coz honestly i'm tired and my grades are getting really fucked up in school. and yes i love my course but idk... some subjects sucked

What can I do at home?

Posted Thursday August 25 2011, 10:08 pm

17/F

Are there any jobs that I can get online so I don't have to leave my home? I'm extremely uncomfortable with leaving my home and I want to see if there's a job or career I can do that I can do at home. I can't really do mathematics or sciences, but I'm very good at writing. I hope there are jobs that take that requirement? I tried looking some up, but most of them asked that I send them forty five dollars or something, but I don't have that kind of cash and others I know are scams...

What Careers Would be Ideal For Me?

Posted Wednesday August 17 2011, 11:23 pm

Hi,

I am 21 years old and I am looking for advice on careers that would fit my personality and interests. I guess the only way to go about this is to tell you about myself :)

I'm a person who loves to learn and understand things and how they came about whether it be a genre of music, a political group ,structures of organizations, or behavior/relationships. Anything
mostly, you name it. I also love to think and create things from scratch whether it be a baked good, a drawing, or just a unique idea that I can somehow bring to life.

I love working with people and ideas, where I can use my abilities to analyze and weigh pros and cons of a particular situation or scenario to realize...

Getting a job

Posted Thursday August 11 2011, 1:15 am

Hey everybody, I'm 14 (almost 15) and I think it's about time I start thinking about a first job. Most likely when I turn 15 or 16 I'll start looking for one. I want to work at McDonald's with my friend, but if I can't, what are some good jobs for somebody who has terrible social skills? All answers are appreciated.

Air Force Recruiting

Posted Sunday July 24 2011, 12:18 am

Hi,

I'm 20/F/Missouri.

I just recently worked up the courage to visit an Air Force recruiter because I've felt the desire to serve my country for a long time, but never had the courage to do so.

I've been looking into the Air Force for quite some time now, and I have a few questions that I've discussed with my recruiter, but of course, being my recruiter, she will tell me what I want to hear in order to get me to join.

I want to know, from those of you who have experienced it.

1. Which education plan is better for those individuals who are interested in pursuing a different career, aside from the Air Force?

There is the TAP program, where yo...
