i just filled out something online tog et information about online courses. I filled in my real address real number and real name. I never do this but for some reason i just did it today becasue i figured its for school. Well about 1 min after I sent it I got a call from the "university" I am finding it very awkward that I would get a call right away. I need some serious help with fundraising ideas.. and making $850 in 2 day Posted Friday December 18 2009, 6:26 am
Club volleyball costs $1,500 dollars. And that doesnt even include the additional stuff like booking in hotels, paying for food during tournies, and apparel (aside from uniforms). But it lasts from November til June so its a good deal, too.. I think. Not like I have a choice, anyways.
SO, I need to fundraise or something to make money! What should I do? Im gonna rake leaves today, and then bake a cake and give people samples so that if they want it I'll make their own cakes and make a profit. Also put up babysitting ads around my neighborhood sometime next week. But the main thing is that I have to make like actually $850 of the money by Sunday. Help! When I rake leaves I'm also gonna ask if people can donate.. cause I really...

bonds Posted Sunday December 6 2009, 3:56 pm
17/CA
This weekend we were looking through the garage and we came upon this receipt. The receipt said that someone paid 50 dollars for a United States Series EE Bond. It was bought nearly 17 years ago.
My questions are:
- What good is a bond?
- What do I do with the receipt?
- Do I get any money from it?
- What do I do with this receipt?
- Will I get to 50 dollars? or more?
Thanks in advance!!

public assistance Posted Monday November 16 2009, 3:41 pm
ok...so I am 18 and pregnant. The baby's father just kinda walked out. I have a plan...I am going to live with my mom (and yes, she's aware), I have two jobs and am saving up.
My question is do you guys have any suggestions on where I can get more assistance both in the form of food and financially?
I am already in the process of applying for food stamps, health care for the baby, and WIC.
Thanks much!

I loaned money to my friend and they refuse to pay me back Posted Wednesday October 14 2009, 12:18 am
I loaned my friend $600 nine months ago to help them keep their small business going. I have since learned that they blew this chunk of money on gambling and various things that were simply not related to the business. I feel like an idiot because I should have seen their immaturity and the warning signs; however, I would very much like to be paid back. When I loaned them the money, it was with the agreement that I would get the full $600 back within six months. Six months are up and they are telling me that I should wait longer. I suggested they pay me weekly until the loan is paid back but they refuse to agree to that.
What should I do now?

credit!! Posted Friday September 18 2009, 12:18 pm
Does anyone know anything about credit scores and marriage, or a website with that information?
I'm 20 and since I turned 18 I got a car loan and a crdit card, never been late on a payment and will pay my car off early. My fiance on the other hand has a mortgage that he never pays on time, has gotten his cable shut off for late payments and so on. So needless to say I have good credit he has bad. After the market goes back up I would like for us to buy a house of our own, but I don't know how difficult that will be if our credit scores are combined or whatever they do.

money management Posted Tuesday September 1 2009, 8:30 pm
hello im 18/f and i've had my current job for about 2 years now. I just cannot seem to save money though. I have a car and its paid off. I couldnt save money so my mother created a new bank account to help me that way i couldnt take any money out which i needed for insurance. But thats just for insurance. I dont want to have to rely on her to help me. I do eat out alot and spend my money and things that are worthless, i just cant seem to save. I think to myself oh its just $5 or whatever the price may be and i buy it. Being in college now, even though im living at home, im finding it hard to pay for things. Can anybody give me any advice on how i can still have access to my money, but not be so tempted to spend it?
Thanks
Ashley

Starting a 'business' Posted Wednesday August 19 2009, 10:49 pm
Okay, so I had the idea of starting some sort of 'business'. I was going to start selling bracelets, like those little friendship bracelets made from embroidery string. I just wanted to know what I should have done. Like, what about inventory? Just anything that would help me out.
Please and thank you!

moving out. Posted Tuesday August 4 2009, 3:30 pm
I'm 20 years old and I'm really ready to move out of my parents' house. I finished my associate's degree and I'm done with school.
Here's the problem. I don't have many friends, and I would rather live alone. I get paid minimum wage where I work ($7.25 per hour). I have all the furniture and appliances for an apartment (I've bought some over the last few months to prepare). I have a car. So once I get an apartment, I won't have to save up for those things.
How do I go about doing this? I've visited some apartments and they require that I earn 3 times the amount of rent. Remember I make minimum wage.
...and please don't tell me to stay in school and stay at home. Thank you. :)

BANKING ADVICE: PLACING STOP PAYMENTS ON CHECKS Posted Wednesday July 22 2009, 5:25 pm
Hi, I'm 18F and my mom passed away not too long ago and I live with my aunt and she has an account for me here but it's my money, and although she is listed on the account as my representative payee, I can still write my own checks. Basically, I wrote a check out without her knowing and sent it to the wrong address and I need to place a stop payment on it immediately but when I called the bank they said that my aunt needed to do it. Is there any way around that? Can I just call back and pretend to be her? because I have her social security number and everything, so what else would they ask to verify that it's her?

what papers are there to sign for legal custody over a child? Posted Tuesday July 21 2009, 8:34 pm
I'm fifteen years old, and I've had my best friend for over eight years. Her legal guardians are her grandparents, who live in Norwalk but unfortunately they couldn't take care of her anymore. So, she moved in with her aunt and uncle in Stamford. The state thinks my friend is still in Norwalk with her legal guardians - not with her relatives.
So, my family absolutely loves her and because of these guardians, they're making her miserable as well as her friends and I, and I can never see her. They basically work her and expect things from her she can't give. (I think of it like Cinderella.) Her aunt's pregnant with the second child, and if she can't juggle her first child and my friend, how can she handle three?
Anyway, since ...

Study Abroad-Summer 2010 Posted Saturday July 18 2009, 11:36 pm
I go to a private university where tuition per hour is crazy high and I'm on lots of scholarships in order to go there. However, one of my dreams is to study abroad in England during the summer. My parents won't let me study abroad during the semester because they don't want me to be gone for a whole semester. However, if I did it during the semester, my scholarships would apply...but the only way I can study abroad is in the summer. The overall cost for the program+school tuition+ airfare is about $15,000. CRAZY, right? I definitely cannot afford that, but I want it SO bad. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I know alot of college graduates wished they had done. I guess what I'm asking is--How can I get $15,000 for next summer? ...
