Why do people lie so much?

Why does everybody lie soooooo much?! For some unknown reason, people lie to me, especially! Certain people keep thinking that I'm not smart enough to notice a lie when I hear it. For example, my ex-boyfriend told me that my best friend black mailed him so that he can stop liking me and that story seemed so outrageous, it was hard to believe. So I told my best friend about it and she told me that he's lying. So I confronted him about it and he said "Stop fucking jumping to conclusions." Now he's saying that he loves me when I know that he doesn't because how can you be able to lie so easily to the person you love, romantically that is. Why is it like people make it a habit to lie or destroy some bodies friendship just to get what ...

When I was a baby my mom used to run my chest to put me to sleep. When I was around two, I rubbed my chest to have comfort for sleep. My sister always teased me about it when I was younger.
I'm 15 now, almost 16. My parents have been fighting a lot.. but I've been waking up with my hand clasped over my breast.. is this a comfort thing?

So when I was younger I used to watch this show that I forgot the name of. It was about two penguins (or alien things that look similar to penguins) and they lived on a space ship together. Pretty sure neither spoke, but there was a narrator who told their thoughts and spoke to them etc. Anyways, they go around the universe saving other planets and things, usually not from enemies, but helping them solve problems.
For example I'm pretty sure I remember one episode was a planet full of instruments and they had to help them play in beat with the metronome and they saved the day and they'd get back on the ship to sleep and the narrator would say something like "night nigh *its names*" then the show would end. Why do I have so much trouble accepting a positive truth?

First off, let me sat that I have OCD and perhaps that's an issue here.
The situation is one that can apply to anyone but in my case, let's just say I learned/discovered the truth of a matter recently and even though it was a relief and should set me free from fear and anxiety, I still have a hard time accepting it fully. I still question and doubt even though I know it in my heart.
Why is it that this doubt and questioning persists and is there a way to just let go and accept what should be a wonderful truth?

is giving advice worth it?

I've answered about 20 questions. Gotten 3 ratings and one thank you. I started doing this cause I like giving advice and helping. The problem is that we don't even know if the person who asked the question even saw your answer. The only way to know is if your answer is rated or you get a thank you. I feel like I spend a lot of time on here and I'm just giving advice to nobody. It kinda takes away the whole "helping people" if you don't even know they read your answer. Sure, its good practice to answer some questions, figure things out about myself. Just not sure if its worth the time to keep answering questions that may never find their target. Maybe I'll look for a site that tells you the person read it, at least. Feeling a little discouraged.

So, if I had a dream and then woke up not recalling several elements of it, it is possible or even likely that my while awake my imagination will attempt to fill in the gaps, whether or not they are accurate at all?

I Don't Know How to Improve These Problems

I am a storm chaser and I'm becoming increasingly surprised, disappointed, and disturbed at how poorly my hometown is prepared for bad weather. I don't know if I'm being dramatic or not, but either way, we have a problem and I don't know how to fix it.
Our town does not use tornado sirens. We have them, but they're never used because the city feels they cause more harm than good, which I completely disagree with. In the past, when they'd go off, it would cause a panic, which would sometimes cause people to do stupid things, like get into car accidents and things like that. Although I understand why they quit using tornado sirens, I don't agree with the decision to do so at all. I mean first off, the whole car accident thing w...

Got a lot drunker than normal?

So a few days ago I had a really bad cold, had been taking several different cold medicines throughout the day, hadn't eaten much and was tired. It was evening, a close friend of mine was going to come over after she was finished at an event later so we could watch some T.V, drink and just bullshit around a bit and take the edge off.
I don't drink very often, and normally don't drink a lot, but I decided to drink a little before she got there, I had two of those little UV vodka shot things you get for like a dollar at a convenience store, and about the equivalent of maybe a shot or two of Spiced Rum mixed with some soda in about an hour.

OK so I'm in high school and I have a best friend(let's call her Donna). Donna and I are super close, see each other several times a week, if not everyday, and I have very little that happens in my life that doesn't involve or isn't influenced by her in some way.
So, whenever I'm talking to people, naturally most(if not all) the stories I tell involve her.

I'm 24 year-old married woman with Asian-European ethnicity. My left eye has a small portion of an orange-reddish ring due to an accident. I'm planning to undergo a LASIK eye surgery next three months so my eyes will completely turn into blue and so the tiny ring will dissapear. I'm writing a story loosely based on real events from my life and I'm running out of time. There's A LOT riding on how good this story ends up being and I want to make it realistic, so please help me.
Let's say that someone, we'll call him Jim, shot his 28 year old granddaughter, we'll Amy, in the chest not too long ago. His lawyer's trying to blame the incident on his possible Alzheimer's and a certain medication he was on, but the court's not going for it. Amy was staying the night at Jim's house to take care of him while he was sick and he went into her room that night and shot her three times while she slept. She survived, but one bullet went through the artery that feeds blood into her heart and put a hole in it.

Expedited Passport. Urgent!

I am from New York. I am traveling overseas in early June, and I need to change the name on my passport. I am going with a whole group of people and this organization is paying for our tickets, but we need to send a photocopy of our passport to show the people that are paying for our tickets, and that needs to be literally this week. I really need to get my new passport ASAP! The passport office policy is that they can't expedite your passport unless you are leaving in two weeks. I already filled out the form, and have everything I need ready. I even have a letter from the organization that I need to show a photocopy of my passport in the next few days to get my ticket. It's really a last minute trip.

I've been trying to get somewhere in life. I come from a poor family and it always made me feel jealous seeing all my friends happy with what their parents can give them. It never bothered me at first, my parents always gave us what we needed, we were happy no matter the circumstances, but I've seen where I want to be in life, I don't want to worry like my parents do, I want to be financially happy, I want to show off with what I've done with my life, but it isn't easy, it is quite hard to get somewhere here in South Africa, things have been getting harder and harder since I graduated from school. Any advice on what to do or how I can change the situation that I'm in?

Singing trouble

Hey! Ok, my problem isn't something too big, but it is something I'm needing help with. I'm going to be going to camp over the summer, and doing the talent show with one of my good friends. She picked the song, but it goes really high up. I told her I would have to do alto. I'm a more soprano singer, but this song is really really high. To be honest, I'm not even quite sure how to do alto, and I need some advice on where I can go so when I sing, it will sound right. Also, I have another problem.
