My guinea pig swollen bottom

Posted Saturday January 7 2012, 12:03 pm

Hey, everybody. A few months ago my guinea piggy got neutered because he attacked his dad (my brother's pig.) When he came back from the vet we kept them separated for a while and now they're together again. They seem to be getting along. The vet told us to watch for lumps down there, but we didn't see any. My piggy's whole crotch area is all swollen though, is this normal? I've just recently noticed it. All answers are appreciated, thank you! Hugs and nibbles from my pig :)

I believe my roomate is poisoning the home with ammonia

Posted Wednesday January 4 2012, 1:27 am

I live with a roommate who is vindictive and has a new problem with me every day. The newest one is that the house smells like ammonia and it's from my cats
I had the cats neutered and spayed and have had them in the house for 6 months. They have never peed anywhere besides the liter box and i change it 2timeson a day. My roomate text me telling me to take care of this ammonia smell and i knew she was lying, however when i got home i smelt ammonia that i never smelt before by the stairs. I strongly believe she bought ammonia and put it on the stairs to prove a point to me. I have been catching her in odd lies a lot lately and would like to know how i can prove the smell ia not from my cats.

How do you teach your dog to follow you?

Posted Saturday December 31 2011, 2:41 pm

Ok, I live with my parents, and I have a three month old Yorkie. I want her to follow me around everywhere I go in the house just like the two dogs we have as well follow my mom.

Everytime she gsts up, they get up and follow her, everywhere she goes in the house.

She's my dog, and I want her to be that way with me. But I don't know how. I don't want her to think my mom is her owner, because I am. But my mom hogs her all the time.

Any advice? I want basically a shadow.

Thanks

Laziest Dog?

Posted Tuesday December 6 2011, 4:16 am

First off, I'm getting a small apartment with my best friend next year when we are college sophomores. I'm looking for a low maintenance dog, with minimal shedding and easy to house train. Affectionate but okay while we're in class and such... I was thinking a beagle but it apparently is hard to train, so any suggestions are appreciated

sign of submissive or dominant ?

Posted Monday December 5 2011, 4:07 am

I have a cross breed between Rottweiler, Golden Retriever and Labrador puppy. She's 7 months old and i realize i made the big mistake of doting her last 3 days since i just got her making her thinking she's the boss. And i was eager to show her she's not, its been 3 days since I do everything i learn from a friend of my mine who has experience in dogs. But lately, when i look at her, she looks away but her ears were perch up like she's the alpha. And sometimes when I let her roam free of my yard because i live in rural area and there's no reason why i should leash her when i'm home, during this time she's all alpha but when I put a leash on her when i take her to the park, she's all submissive.
So in actuality, is she getting submissi...

Will the humane society kill a dog with a broken leg?

Posted Saturday November 19 2011, 5:32 pm

The dogs leg is twisted and the bone was sticking out. They put bandages around her legs. will The shelter have to kill it? My brother took it to the vet today and she told him he would have to pay a lot of money to get the dog worked on and he doesn't have that kind of money. My brother had another dog we took to the shelter a while ago and they just killed it because they said it was too much money to take care of the dog. If we take it to the shelter ot humane society will she have to get killed?

my budgies vent

Posted Thursday October 27 2011, 4:54 pm

my female budgies vent looks swollen, it is brown and does not look good. The pet barn gave me some advice to try a broad spectrum antibiotic which I have done and into the second day. She is eating normal, she seems happy except for her problem. The vets around my area do not know enough about birds, in fact they killed my last budgie by giving it 2 injections and charging me $85. I am a pensioner and cannot afford these prices especially when the bird dies as a result from treatment. My friend took her budgie to the vet last week and her bird ended up with a pulled muscle in its wing from being held wrongly. all they did was clipped the wings and nails, I could have done a better job. My budgie keeps scratching and picking the area from t...

How do I persuade my mother to let me adopt a cat?

Posted Thursday October 13 2011, 7:15 pm

I am a 15 year old girl, and I really want cat. I have been wanting one for years, and I know I can take care of it. This isn't just a want, or a phase. We recently adopted a rabbit, but he either ran away or was taken by a raccoon (through no fault of my own), I realized it would actually be possible to get a cat.

I have a ferret currently, and I think she is lonely, since our other one died about a year ago of cancer. I have read and it seems like ferrets and cats get along really well. I also just want to experience feline companionship. Everybody in my family except for my little sister and I have lived with a cat or cats, and they all say they are amazing animals, and it's a delight to live with them.

My cat is a bit too weird

Posted Tuesday September 20 2011, 5:56 pm

I've had my cat for a little over 2 years now and he's been a menace since we first got him, about 2 weeks old. Usually, from my experience, when cats get neutered they calm down and aren't so...bad.
My cat LOVES plastic. He sees plastic or hears it, he comes running and he loves to actually eat it. My other cat has never given me problems, it's just this younger one. Will he grow out of it or should I seek help? lol
