Is there a racist double standard with celebrities?

People overlooked all the problems Amy Winehouse had as tragic, and still loved her, when she was alive. But when MJ was alive, despite him getting cleared of the legal issues, people mercilessly made fun of "wacko jacko", until his death. And then now, another British celebrity called Cheryl Cole assaulted a toilet attendant (a middle aged black woman) after she tried to stop her from stealing some candy. And yet people still give that the blind eye and then say to not focus on her past as it happened so long ago. But after Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna, people thought Chris Brown should be locked up forever. And now, after he's done his time for his crime, people still want him to never be successful again. Criminal records

i was wondering what kinds of things stay on your record.. like does shoplifting misdemeanor at age 17 stay on your record for years if you never went in to pay $20 for it to be annulled? or would you still need to go in to remove the record officially. if you did have it taken off your record, would it be completely erased?
say they asked for your name when you call in for the police, do they keep record of that? or say the police were called on you once before you were an adult and had a report of harassment filed on you but no action was taken against you... it was just for reports, would that still be there? even if it's irrelevant now?
what sorts of things do they keep on criminal records?

Sloppy Passport Signature

I just received my new passport today, and signed (signature line) using a thin black permanent marker. I went over it to make it extra dark/permanent, and it occurred to me that a passport official in foreign country might view it as unacceptable. It looks okay, but a tad sloppy. (it's a US passport)... Do I have anything to be worried about?

Lacking Inspiration

Hey guys.
Okay I love to write and I have a passion for English. I'm going to college to study it in September.
Okay so lately the problem is I'm totally lacking inspiration and motivation.
I haven't written since I finished school which is a good few months ago. My actual English final exam for school went very badly. I put too much pressure on myself because I wanted to do so well that I panicked and ended up doing not nearly as good as I wanted to.
Ever since then I lost confidence in myself.
I started second guessing myself and wondering am I really as good as I once thought? I'm also wondering will I be cut out for studying it in college..

shaved stomach

So, i have blond hairs on my stomach and they don't look bad but they show up in the sun a lot and I don't like that. So, i shaved the bottom of my stomach like around and below my belly button. Well, that was a bad idea because now you can tell where i did it because of the hair on the top of my stomach. I dont wan't a hairy stomach but I dont want to shave my entire abdomen either. What do i do to make it look right and it not look so messes up?

I'm M/16. A year ago, I thought I'd be doing better. It seems I've made very little progress. I have a lot of problems, mostly ones that are all in my control. First off, I have a bad addiction, it's nothing illegal, I just think it's wrong and effects my social life. I went from everyday to every weekend. Sometimes I'd go two weeks, I would feel so much stronger and more powerful. But once any little thing happens, I go right back. On top of this, I have alienated a few girls that I liked, so there are no girls in my life right now. And I feel like the one I like now thinks I'm weird or creepy. Our world society gets more and more connected everyday, so someone in America could easily adopt certain aspects of Japanese culture, or any other culture. One could argue that it's stupid because Japanese people don't like foreigners, but there's bigotry in most, if not all, cultures. That doesn't mean you can't appreciate the good parts of them.
I love how I'm not just limited to my environment, and how I can make friends in different continents online. I'm a black girl in America, with parents from Africa, and I'm originally from England, so I've always been used to diversity. I've been to Japan once, too, and I loved it. Hey there(: well I love writing stories in wattpad, in which I hardly get any readers. Well I got this really good idea for a story and well I posted it on wattpad the first chapter, and I only 3 reads! And I did what a lot of people said, I fanned a lot of people and subscribed to clubs and posted to the clubs about my story! But still only three reads so far! I know it's only one chapter but I see Tons of books that have millions am I don't see how!? Please help!!! And let me know ways how and why I'm not! I live in an apartment and it is against the rules to paint the walls. I am going nits and would like to add some sort of color...What about wrapping paper? I know it sounds silly but my walls are white. I need some ideas! Something not messy and will not damage the wall.

Why do a lot of black people think its derogatory to say their hair's nappy

I don't understand. I'm a black girl myself, and 'nappy' just means "(of a black person's hair) Frizzy". What is so negative about saying that it's frizzy? I do have frizzy hair. It's not relaxed with dangerous chemicals or anything. Other adjectives to describe my hair are 'kinky' and 'coily'. Are the people who see these terms as negative just ashamed of their natural hair? To me, a term like 'nappy' is just as negative as saying hair is curly, straight, or wavy.
It doesn't matter if the person who refers to my hair as nappy isn't black. Why would I get offended, when it's not a bad term? And if someone tried to use the term negatively, I would just laugh, because there's nothing negative about it. An actual negat...

Why can't restaurants just pay their waiters more money?

I don't understand. Why are their entire livelihoods dependent upon optional tips? If restaurants paid their waiters more, then yes, their food would cost more, but that would be the real value of their food. Otherwise, people should be completely free to not tip, because it's legal. Unless someone makes a law saying that you must tip, or it's a crime.
I just think it's ridiculous. I'd rather just pay more money for food in a restaurant, and not have to tip unless I really wanted to. Does anyone else agree that it's messed up that the majority of money waiters make fluctuates, and is dependent upon charity?

Finding an old article.

Hello. I believe I have read an article long ago about a man and his family. Problem is, I'm not too certain for it was quite some time ago. Yet, I saw a picture of him and his family on Facebook and I had deja vu. I met this man earlier this year. I asked him if he had ever been in a magazine article and he told me he was many years ago. He said it was a bad time. I don't think he gave me the whole story. So my question is, is there any possibility I can find this article on the internet? I've been searching his name but all I can find is his basic information. I really want to see it again. Does anyone know a way to find the article? Any websites that would be much better results than Google?

Was it right for white people in the past to claim ownership of land from Native Americans, Africans, Australian Aborgines, Indians, etc? If you're white and live in the Americas, Australia, or any other colonized country, do you see that as okay, as those other groups didn't have immigration laws, even though land was forcefully taken away from them? Even if you live in Europe, many European countries benefited from their colonies, so it has affected you positively.
Also, what made Europeans move out of Europe in the first place? In a country like America, many Europeans came who were facing persecution in Europe, to pursue a better life. If you can be sympathe...

When I first started college, I had some idea of what I liked and what I would like to do. It wasn't until now, my senior year, that I know exactly what I want to do, and I've had the calling to do it. The problem is... I already have 115 credits. To graduate from psychology, which was what I majored in, I need 120 credits to finish... so all I need is 2 classes. I do not want to graduate in another two years and change my bachelors Elementary Education, which is what I want to do. I want to be a teacher. However, let me explain the situation.
