Internship for Seventeen Magazine.

Posted Friday January 20 2012, 10:16 am

Hello, I am a seventeen year old female. I love fashion and I love make up, I recently had gotten addicted to the new tv show Jane By Design. So, I was wondering about getting an internship for my favorite magazine, which of course, is Seventeen. I just don't quite understand, on the website it says that I must be able to receive college credits for my work, I don't know what that means. Can somebody help me out and tell me if they interned anywhere and if you liked it? Thanks a bunch!

Seeking Employment With 30-40+ Hours

Posted Tuesday January 3 2012, 2:35 pm

[20/F]
Hi,

I'm seeking a new job that will be an aide to me in affording a better standard of living. I currently have a fast food job and I'm only working about 6 hours a week if I'm lucky. I have any day, any times availability. I stay with a family that I lived with 12-16 years ago and they are gracious enough to let me live with them without paying rent. However, I can tell it's been troubling them with my stay because I'm not contributing much and I feel I have been here long overdue. I have been staying here 6 months. I have had $200 in food stamps but the past couple of months I haven't received any. They take me back and forth to work. I feel as if I'm a burden on them and I haven't been happy here. I'm constan...

How to tell my intern I cannot keep up with it...

Posted Tuesday January 3 2012, 10:01 am

Hello!
Currently Im a student at the University of South Florida. I've got good grades,I work hard to be involved in many clubs and organizations and work at a radio station. I'm only a freshman, but i felt the need to try and get started on an internship. I applied, and found out that there were over 100 people being interviewed.I tried my best during the interview , just to see if I would get hired. She hired me, along with maybe 15 others.I found out that the internship is mostly online and you basically fill out paperwork and post things to her website (online magazine). Recently, I have been on vacation and haven't been able to glue my face to a computer. On top of that, my best friend is in the hospital due to someone attempting...

No payment from JSA and feel messed around.

Posted Monday January 2 2012, 5:13 pm

I re-applied for job seekers allowance in mid november and noticed I had no money. I then received a letter asking me for details about somewhere I once worked. I sent off the form the very next day and then received a letter saying they had increased my allowance by around £2.

However I have had no payment all through December and it is now the new year so it is coming up to quite some weeks now. The office in Birkenhead has been closed most of the time I have called them so I have not been able to contact them about the issue.

My mum expects rent, I need new clothes. My sign on day has been moved to 9th January as would have signed on Boxing day but it is classed as a public holiday.

I have r...

career decision

Posted Thursday December 29 2011, 6:33 pm

19/f

I am currently in college and I am undecided major. I have given my future career a lot of thought and I know that I want to do something involving a laboratory. My entire family and extended family are associated with the medical field, so it is basically in my blood to be surrounded by medicine and research. My aunt and uncle are doctors, however I wish to be the medical researcher. I need help coming up with career choices which would fit the criteria of being in a laboratory and doing research. I was either thinking pharmacy or forensic science (I've always wanted to be a detective and I am interested in the law department).

Would anyone be willing to help me out with my career problem and their inputs and/or recommendations? Thank you!

How do I make it on my own?

I am a senior in high school and in march my boyfriend and I are going to get a place together. He is 23, makes 10.00 and hr. I make 8.00 an hr. The job I have (a local pizza place) well honestly sucks. The manager only make 9.00 an hour so I am pretty sure I don't have enough room to grow there. I do not want my boyfriend to be the one paying all the bills and we do not want to live paycheck-to-paycheck.I want to stay away from fast food jobs and jobs where I stand in one spot(I get dizzy) What can I do to provide an income for us?

Need a Different Job

Posted Tuesday November 29 2011, 11:20 pm

So i just recently graduated high school, and i've been having a really hard time getting used to things. I go to a community college locally and during the summer i got hired as a cashier at this chain store in the mall by my house. The people that work there are really nice for the most part except for the store manager who treats everyone like dirt. Which ive also had big problems with. I just came to the conclusion that i am not a peoples person. Ive been downright miserable there because the rules are so strict and the days there are so long- and im only a cashier! I also have to deal with a lot of really nasty customers all day long and it's just getting on my nerves and everytime i'm there i feel like im in prison. I would just like ...

Stressing out over what to do the rest of my life..I am stuck between things along the lines of photographer, photojournalist, visual communications, advertising, art therapist, lab assistant, medical researcher, research pharmicist, and business starter.
What would be the most entertaining, long lasting, good paying, hands on, and short enough schooling job out of thoes? it doesnt need to be all of the qualities but generally any opinions as to which way to fall?

Make money online?

Posted Sunday October 23 2011, 6:15 pm

I'm 17 years old, no car, no permit, no job, not in school.
In order to get a job, I need a car and my provisional license to drive myself. I'm working on it, but it'll still be about 6-7 months before it happens.

My parents can't drive me to a job because they both have full-time jobs. They also need their cars at all times because they both have jobs where they're on call 24/7. And they need to be able to get to work in-case of emergency.

Being a teenage girl, I obviously need money. I hate the idea of borrowing from my parents since they're both struggling to make the bills. I have about $7000 in the bank that I started saving when I was born and just last year my dad decided to take $1000 and put it ...

Drug test: Will it show up positive if I just held the drugs?

Posted Monday October 17 2011, 10:35 pm

Here's the thing, I have never smoked or done drugs.. but 3 weeks ago..I ended up basically doing a deal for my friend..and I put his dub in my pocket for a few minutes until he got there for me to give to him..

Today, I just took a drug test for a job, and I was wondering what would be the possibility it shows up? Rare right?

I feel like now I'm freaking out for nothing because I didn't actually do anything besides hold it for someone for a few minutes.
