Feminine issues?

Posted Sunday September 28 2014, 3:41 pm

I am a 23 year-old female, who is noticing minor issues with my body. Little problems that I did not notice before, one such issue concerns female problems. Having lived in my body so long, although these problems might seem normal I am a little bit concerned.

Before getting my period on Friday, I started feeling really poorly. I was experiencing stomach problems, and diarrhea. I felt poorly enough where I stayed home from school for two days in a row, thinking that I was getting sick.

Having dealt with my period for 11 years now, I am no stranger to painful periods. Before I started taking naproxen sodium during the first days of my period, I would continuously throw up. This included when I was on dates with ...

Has anyone had an appendectomy?

Posted Saturday September 13 2014, 7:34 pm

I had a laparoscopic appendectomy with 3 incisions a month ago. Everything is healing well and I'm slowly going back to my normal routine. The stitches are still there but the outer skin is almost fully healed. Doc said it's going to take about 2 months for the inner tissue to reattach. This morning, I stretched my opposite arm up subconsciously and felt a snap on one of the incisions underneath the skin. It was painful. I called my doctor. He said to take some motrin and take it easy for the rest of the day. I did what he said and took a nap. I moved a little there was the snapping feeling again. It's not painful now but I am a little worried.

Is It Good or Bad That I Stay...?

Posted Tuesday September 9 2014, 11:04 pm

I am female and in college, first year. Not from the US. I suffer from a low level hypothyroidism for which I am taking my medications - reason why the condition has not escalated or gotten worse. I do however, have costhocondritis now. I have inflammations on various parts of my chest area. Sometimes the pain can de quite painful, sometimes it just goes away and doesn't do much. Mostly its stress that triggers it but recently I have been doing much more exercise tan what I am used to and the pain started coming back again today. I am unsure as whether it is healthier to stay in the sport I am, or leave it - the physical exercises we do are pretty serious (pushups, running laps around a huge building, running up and down stairs, and a bunch...

overweight my whole life

Posted Tuesday September 9 2014, 2:45 am

I have had an issue with weight my whole life. In high school I was always large, a size 12-14. I went down to about a 10-12 when I was in wrestling and participating in extremely high intensity exercises for 2.5-4 hours a day, 5 times a week and keeping a nearly anorexcic diet in order to make weight. I work full time now and have other responsibilities so I can't do that now. I eat a normal healthy way - I watch my carbs/fat/sugar intake, I don't eat huge portions and rarely eat beyond being full - and always have. The thing is, I consistently gain weight. I can maintain my weight by working out (I only have time for about 1/2 hour every other day) and eating less food and very small portions,, but I always feel STARVED and I don't lose, ...

What is a quick & painless way to die?

Posted Monday August 25 2014, 9:07 am

I dont wanna hear about how selfish i am, or how I shouldnt do this bla bla. I dont want to be here anymore. I'm not going anywhere. I have no future. I have been depressed for years. Ive tried everything. The little family that I have hates me, I've been bullied my whole life, I was diagnosed with psychosis a year ago. I'm homeless now. I don't want to be here anymore. I feel like a burden and it would be easier for everyone if I died. Sometimes I wish I could just die in a fast car accident

Acne treatment

Posted Saturday August 23 2014, 9:27 am

I have suffered with acne since I was about 12 (I'm now 18) I have it on my face and back and although it's not quite as bad as it use to be it's still not nice and I am so self conscious about it. I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations of any treatment that actually worked as I've tried every tablet and cream possible and nothing has worked.
Thank you

I was neglected at the hospital

Posted Tuesday August 19 2014, 11:33 am

I went to this the em room for pain in my stomach. The doctor is it was a appendicitis. I have it removed the next day. The night after the surgery my IV machine would not stop beeping and I needed to go to the bathroom. I press the button for someone to one to come. No one answered. I pressed it 6 more times and still no answer. I didn't want to pee on myself and the bed and I forced myself up. Holding on to my IV I pushed myself forward. I made it to the bathroom and suddenly vomited on the floor. I went to the bathroom and pee I pulled the string and still no answer. I sat on the toilet screaming for help. A woman came she saw how hysterical I was and said she'll find my nurse. She left me standing over my vomit. I could have tripped and...

Bump on my Gums! I'm scared!

Posted Sunday August 17 2014, 1:32 am

*didn't know if this was the right catagory*

I've been really busy and I kept forgetting to brush my teeth (Which I am now) but a few days ago I noticed a bump on the bottom right back side of my mouth on my gums. Its tender and hurts sometimes because I accidentally bite on it (my teeth are crowded and I have an overbite) It's also covering a tiny tiny tooth over halfway (but I could never really feel the tooth so I assumed it was broken off) I'm really scared. How can I get this to naturally get this to go away!? I brushed my teeth 4 times in a row just now and its still really tender.

Please help me find a way to completely get rid of this problem! Naturally (because my family doesn't have the money to tak...

Tick bite?

Posted Sunday August 3 2014, 1:53 pm

So I was taking a walk with my boyfriend in the woods about a week ago. I was wearing sneakers and black tights.
I never sat down and I don't recall walking on grass. I was just squating at one point because I was watching a snail.
The thing is that I suddenly felt a sharp pain on my leg. I didn't think much of it and just figured that some insect bit/stung me, but I wasn't worried.
Then, a day later, it started to itch and get red. It looked similar to a tick bite (a red/blueish circle around the bite) but the thing is that I am really sensitive. I had a mosquito bite a few weeks ago and it looked awful. So I'm really not sure if this is a tick bite. The redness went away and now I just have a small dot where the insec...

Why do I sweat so much?

Posted Tuesday July 22 2014, 9:04 am

First of all, I'm a 14 year old girl. I am incredibly sweaty. I swear through t-shirts, sweatshirts, I even manage to get sweat stains on tanktops that don't even touch my armpits! I've tried EVERYTHING from uncented deodorants, clinical strength, stick, roll on, and nothing works. I shower daily and scrub my pits (I've also tried several different soaps). I shave, too (though for a little while I stopped shaving because someone said it traps sweat.... It doesn't) This didn't become a problem until I turned 13 around the middle of my 7th grade year. This doesn't affect any others parts of my body, just underarms. What's wrong with me? What can I do?

Just had my first annual physical exam

Posted Tuesday July 22 2014, 8:20 am

I didn't know what to expect so I looked at the clinic's website. It listed a bunch of tests and screening they were going to do to you. Like, a pap smear, mammogram, cancer screenings, weight management, dermatology, etc… I have insurance under my mom. I get one free physical every year until I’m 26. So I went. I was told that if it was a regular checkup it's free but if I asked her about anything else I would be charged. They only took my blood, height, weight, and that was it. The doctor came into my room with a male intern. I told her I was uncomfortable with male doctors examining certain areas of my body. I don’t think she got the hint. She started asking me about a previous diagnosis I had and I explained the basics to her. I t...

Starting workout routine again!

Posted Saturday July 19 2014, 9:32 am

F:18

So I'm starting back up with my work out routines and I wanted to start using protein powder. I'm a vegetation so it's already hard enough getting protein in my system so this would be a great way to get it while working out in a regular basis. My question is what type of protein powder should I get? I'm wanting to get well defined muscles (I'm a female but I want pretty defined muscles). I don't know if there are protein powders better for women or for begginers? If you know anything about this let me know :)

Pubic hair? REALLY AWKWARD

Posted Tuesday July 15 2014, 5:51 pm

15/f and I have a few questions about having pubic hair. I don't have wax available to me so I do shave it but that area gets really irritated and forms bumps of red and is really rough unlike the skin on my legs or underarms when they are shaved. Also, in which direction is it better to shave the pubic region? Sorry this is awkward

Low Calorie Diet

Posted Monday July 14 2014, 8:17 pm

I'm going on a diet and I only want to eat around 500 calories a day (with little to no cheat days) I was wondering if this is safe/ healthy as long as I get all if my vitamins and nutrients. My Bmr is about 1,400 and I'll be exercising so I know I'll lose weight. I've been eating avocado, almonds, milk, oranges, apples, bananas, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, oatmeal, spinach, tomatoes, fish, tofu, grapes , broth, watermelon, green tea, black tea,and of course water. I'm planning on expanding the list if I do this long term. I eat 5-7 small meals a day. So is this safe? I've heard that if I do this my body will start eating my muscle so I've put the diet on hold until I know for sure. If this isn't safe, I'd like some suggestions ...
