i just came to a new school last week. its been a week now and i dont really hangout with anybody during lunch or anything. its not that im weird or shy or anything, its just that people there have their own friends already. What do i do?
for the last week i just walked around the whole campus in circles just to kill time until lunch ends.
i dont wanna do that anymore!
i know its easy for a girl to make friends at a new school, but its not that easy for a guy.
help.

First off, I know for a fact I'm not ugly or extremely pretty. I'm average. So I know this isn't cause I look funny.... I think...
Anyway, in English the class assistant, (an assistant is usually sophomore who had the teacher in the past at our school. I'm a freshman) is looking at me alot. He never really talks, but I catch him looking at me alot, usually when I'm laughing with the guy next to me and my other friends. He watches/eavesdrops long enough to know what's going on for sure I know, because I was making a face the other day that for SOME reason everyone loves. I like the drum major of the band, like I said. Everyday, I'm getting closer to the conclusion that he likes me. Everytime the band is being bad, he will yell at the band as a whole but when he calls set and the band is ready and I'm not he won't tell me "get ready" or "come on, listen better" when someone else in the band isnt in their spot or in playing position like he says, he'll yell at them and tell them they need to hustle more. It seems to me like he yells at everyone else in the band but me and his buddies. Another thing, alot of people in the band think he's gay, which he isnt. There is this girl at my college well she is always screaming and shouting and is really loud and embarassing she butts into peoples convos when you tell her its personal. She acts like she is 5. She screams over you and interupts you and you can hear her half way across the campus. She does and says the most embarassing things to people. the other day she told a basketball player that I was shy and he should hang out with me I really want to meet my own friends and its really screwing me up. I am horrible at being mean. What do I do?

Hey, today I just got a boyfriend! Im really hapy! But, also I didnt want this to happen... He's moving away on Thursday. People say that if your 13 you dont know what love is, or you cant be in love.. But I really think im in love. Ive liked alot of boys(never had a boyfriend though! Just had a crush!) and I liked them, But this guy... He just gets into my thoughts!! Im trying to be strong, Im trying not to show that im sad, so that it wont make it any harder on him... parents being unreasonable

My parents are really being unreasonable. They refuse to approve of my boyfriend because he's not from the same group of people as us. He's puerto rican and my parents dislike him because of the reputation they carry but what upsets me the most is they are judging too quickly.. They haven't even met him in person to be making judgements. And my father refuses to allow me to go out with him anymore. This isn't the only thing they dislike about him.. He's 18 but could pass as a 20 yr old and my parents claim that if I bring him over the house there going to ask for I.d to prove his age its completely nonsense !! Help with problem employee

I (25, female) was recently promoted to manager at my small business company. One of my employees (56, female) that I am responsible for has become an issue. Examples of what she has done include:
- mismanaging client accounts (all small amounts, but it's important)
- badmouthing me behind my back to to other employees and then denying it when confronted (at the same time being super-nice to my face)
- insisting that I have the problem with her
- refusing to complete all the duties as outlined in the job description
- taking longer on client outings, which hold up other clients for hours
- taking a valid criticism (she is always late for work) and turning it into a personal attack (I expect perfect...

ok so there is this guy at my college..... I really like him and I'm not sure if he likes me. We sit down and watch t.v. all the time and talk and laugh for like hours. I'm a 13 year old girl, and there is this guy. Well, actually 2 guys One is super nice, and I think he likes me, but I've only known him for about a week. The other guy I've known for a while longer (about a year) and I'm pretty sure he likes me as well. These 2 guys have known each other for a long time, and they never got along. I don't want to ruin my friendship with either of them... but there is a dance coming up at school, and I want to know what to do if they both ask me out. (I kinda like both of them, by the way). hi im male. im about to enter my junior year in high school. but im going into a new school. i only know like one person there, but hes not really like, normal.. like he doesnt really care about me.
the problem is, i dont wanna be sitting by myself! making friends isnt the problem, it just takes time. i need help, because i dont want to be sitting by myself on the first day. its not that im shy or weird or anything, im a pretty social person. its just that other people already have their own friends and wont care much about new people.

I am a freshman a big state school, over 40,000 people.
But the problem is that i cant seem to find friends.
I read the book "the naked roommate" and i have read many tips and i have tried them.
During the first couple of days it was extremely easy to follow those tips, simply because everyone was in the same situation- no friends. I met a lot of new people, and i was very open minded, i would start a conversation with anyone in range, and would sit with random people to eat with.
But now it has been over a week and things seem to be changing.
Groups are being formed, close friendships are starting to develop, relationships and so on...
But yet i still feel like im on the same boat as i w...

Judging Others

I think that I unfairly judge others based on their GPA / class levels in high school. I'm a very competitive student in all honors and AP classes and I think, unintentionally, I base people's intelligence based on what classes they are taking (e.g., if another student is taking B-level classes, I assume they are lazy and that he or she doesn't care about school, college, or career success, or I greatly respect students taking many honors / AP classes). How do I STOP judging people based on their GPA / class levels and realize that not all students in honors / AP classes are necessarily intelligent and that not all B-level students don't care about getting into a top university?
