money Posted Saturday April 9 2011, 1:11 am
Like most teenagers.. I'm looking to make a few bucks.
first of all, if you didn't already know- teenagers are busy. I don't have much time to get a job. I'm involved in 2 sports, plus i've got loads of homework each night. i'm taking advanced/enriched high school classes and even a few college prep courses. if i did get a job, i would work 1 or 2 times per week.
there aren't any kids in my neighborhood so i can't nanny or babysit. my parent's friend's don't have any younger kids. I've thought about a garage sale but there's seriously nothing in my house people would want. my parents are neat freaks, so i'm pretty sure any junk we have has already been thrown away. I've tried online surveys which will pay you,...

am I in a contract if one automatiacally renews each year? Posted Thursday April 7 2011, 6:27 am
Hi I was with talk talk business for my phone line and I was in a 2 year contract. After this period I change to another phone company and now talk talk business are saying that I am atill in a contrat with them. That automatically renews every year, if i dont find out the date by phoning and end the contract by letter. So now talk talk business want £103 for cancelling the contract early. I do not find this fair as I feel that the original 2 year contract is not just a 2 year contract but a continuous contract, so is there any way that I can get out of paying this?

paying health bills confidentially Posted Monday April 4 2011, 6:55 pm
So I am 20 years old, and on my parents' health insurance. I went to get tested for STD's at my university's health center, as I am sexually active. How it works is the university sends you the bill, which you are supposed to make a copy of. One copy you send to the university with your payment, and the other you send to your insurance so they can reimburse you.
My problem is that before I always sent it to my mom, and she took care of everything for me. But my bill clearly states that I have gotten tested for HIV, Chlamydia, etc, etc. I don't want my mom seeing this. I discussed with her today how to pay bills with the insurance and stuff, and she told me I need a password in order to send the bill to insurance. She won't r...

Japan donation scam Posted Saturday March 19 2011, 6:06 am
How do I tell if the e-mails I am getting about donating to Japan's disaster relief are real, honest charities that aren't out to scam people?
I want to give, but I don't know who to trust and I don't want anything to do with the red cross for my own reasons.
Thank you!

I Got Caught Shoplifting Posted Thursday March 3 2011, 8:15 pm
I got caught shoplifting at an Urban Outfitters two weeks ago with a friend. I had gotten caught with one shirt and she had over $150 worth of things. All they did to me was ask for my ID (I gave them my school ID because I'm only 15) to get my name and they asked for my address. I told the worker an accurate address, but I guess my voice had been trembling because she wrote down something extremely different. I didn't know whether I should have corrected her or not, so I didn't.
They took my friend to the back room and called the cops/got all her information and stuff, but they told me I could go because I didn't take enough things to need assistance from the cops. The only information they have on file of me is my name, a ...

Dress Prices Posted Thursday February 24 2011, 4:48 pm
I'm selling two dresses, and I need some opinions on what I should ask for them.
The first is a prom dress. It's from last season (2010), and it was 500 dollars bought brand new. It was only worn once for about four hours. I'm not sure how much I should ask for this.
The second is a wedding dress. It was also only worn once obviously. It's from about six years ago and it was worth 3,000 dollars new.
Thanks for any help!

Art work and Copywrite Posted Sunday February 20 2011, 10:24 pm
I would like to know what I need to do as far as getting ready to sell my art work. I think it sounds absurd that that I would have to get each and every single piece copyrighted before I can sell them, is that what I am really supposed to do or is there a way that my signature means something or do I have to get my signature copyrighted or what? What do I have to do to make sure my art work stays my art work after someone buys it or sees it online. Thanks.

EMPLOYER TOOK OUT TAXES BUT DID NOT PAY THEM Posted Thursday February 10 2011, 2:59 pm
Building Maintenance employee (my son-in-law) started 9-1-10
Did not sign a contract. Filled out a W4
Received a check bi-weekly with taxes taken out but nothing shown on check stub because they said their program did not provide that. (small company) but they did provide an excel spreadsheet showing check # - company name and all itemized deductions for each check. On 2-9-11 employer gave a 1099 (which was hand written in pencil with the wrong spelling of first name and made out for $7,900.00) and said he will probably have to cut a check for the money that was deducted because they did not send it in to Federal, FICA, State, etc. On 2-10-11 employer said he wants a meeting in the a.m. because he is either going to fire my ...

Spending my entire life savings! Posted Wednesday February 9 2011, 5:14 pm
I am currently away studying abroad and will have zero dollars left when I return. I have the option of working at a camp for two months this summer. I could make up to 2000 dollars, have no expenses, and have a day off each week along with 2 hours off each day. Sounds like a good deal, right? The only things holding me back are that I'll already have been away from my friends, family, and boyfriend for five months, I'm moving into a house in august and will need to plan for that, and my family may be getting a puppy and I would miss being there while it's small (a little silly, I know). I'm considering putting out a flyer in my neighborhood and in the surrounding area to let families know I'm available to babysit/petsit/tutor, but I'm afra...
