okay i know this question has been asked a million times and i get the same answer: crunches, but it doesnt work so here:

i want to lose my lower stomach fat and i have tried exercises like crunches, situps and walking. what are some really good exercises or something i could do to get that lower stomach to be flat? it gets annoying because i cant wear shirts that show a little belly and such, so does anyone know anything/exercises i could do that you know will DEFINETLY work? please help because i have been trying to get my stomach to be flat but it never happens and i have waited for like months. and please dont say crunches or running, ive tried those and dont work well.. thanks ill rate high (link)
Yup, definitely the most important things are to drink lots of water, eat responsibly, and keep moving. And keep in mind you won't notice results right away; it might take months for you to see a difference, but hopefully you'll feel better after just a few days.

While different kinds of exercising will affect different muscles, you'll be most likely to reach your goal if you focus on finding something you enjoy (and like to push your body to do) so you'll stick with it. That may be something only you can figure out.

Is it possible to use brushes that other people have made on the Gimp program? I used to use photoshop and I have a lot of brushes that I used on photoshop before my trial ran out so would it be possible to use those same brushes on Gimp?

Thank you. (link)
I haven't tried it myself, but supposedly you can convert them:

I have recently created a new LiveJournal Community and am doing pretty good with it. But there are two things I need to know, How to create a picture header without upgrading, and how to post in my own community.

Thank you very much. :) (link)
To do it without upgrading, you have to use the S1 system.

I think this tutorial covers it, but I've only worked with S2, so I'm not sure how clear it is.

Okay, is there a place to get brushes made by other people to use on GIMP?

On livejournal, they have places to download brushes you can use on photoshop and paint shop pro but I can't find any for GIMP.

Thank you. (link)
I haven't tried it, but it seems like you can convert photoshop brushes to gimp brushes. So if you see a PS brush you like, you can download it anyway. Which , personally, I'm excited to hear because I always use GIMP and just never bothered with brushes before.

If you want to look for brushes made specifically for gimp, you might be able to find what you're looking for at deviantart.

I have noticed that my computer does not actually have microsoft powerpoint.
so i was woundering if i could download it-i found out i can but i have to pay dollas! :S
is there a website where i can geta trile version free? (link)
If you're looking for something to keep on your computer, I recommend trying Open Office. It's a program that's designed to be like Microsoft Office, but is given away for free. One thing that's really neat is that you're able to open/edit/save all your programs in the MSOffice formats, so you can still easily bring them back and forth from school/work.

Download it here:
http://download.openoffice.org/index.html
Click on the STABLE version. It says "OpenOffice.org 2.0.2 (stable)"

The program that you use to make slideshow presentations is called "Impress" - that's their version of Powerpoint. There will be a few things that look different, but they both do the same thing.

There are some tutorials here:
http://www.learnopenoffice.org/tutorials.htm
I've never used them, but they look very detailed and easy to understand.

If you don't need to make your own presentations and just want to see other people's presentations, you can use the PowerPoint viewer instead:

Good luck!

Well I don't have photo shop but I want to photoshop my pictures. Does anyone else know how? (link)
As mentioned above, the program The GIMP is a great option. It's similar to the expensive Photoshop program, so it has lots of functionality.

However, because both tools are aimed at people who are doing a lot of photo editing and image creation, they are also very complicated.

If you're mostly looking to clean up photos you've taken with your digital camera, I highly recommend trying out Picasa.

When you work out and get sore muscles, what helps more, ice or heat? (link)

If you want to relax, heat's the best.

You don't want to use heat if you might have internal (or external) bleeding (such as a bruise). Heat increases blood flow, so it will make any injury worse.

You don't want to use ice if you might have pulled a muscle. Ice decreases mobility, so it will make it harder to work the muscle.

Otherwise, you can use whatever feels best. Depending on the injury, I sometimes heat it before exercise, and then ice it after. The heat makes it more mobile and less likely to get hurt, and the ice just feels good afterwards.

Yes, but why so many cookies? I can understand one cookie for tracking (and it seems that Frontpage does this by default, because I think I get alerted of one every time I visit a Frontpage-designed site). But why does one site need to send me 5 or more cookies? (This doesn't even count third-party cookies from advertisers.) (link)
For most sites, it's probably unnecessarily, especially if you're finding that it's just default on Frontpage.

Some forum software justifiably use a lot of cookies, however. I just used Mozilla's cookie manager to take a look at how many cookies I'm storing on a board I admin. It's an invision board and it appears to store five cookies, plus one for each forum.

1 - member_id
(this is to store the member id, so it doesn't have to query a database every time)

2 - pass_hash
(this is probably used to confirm that the user hasn't faked their member_id)

3 - session_id

4 - topicsread

5 - hide_sess (this is to get rid of the session in the url)

And then for each forum I read, I get a cookie called fread_#

I don't particularly like this way, but it seems pretty standard across the browsers. This information could be stored on the servers instead, but it would require a lot more computing energy, so it's probably best this way.

For sites that aren't storing and passing a lot of individual information like forums do, there really can't be a good reason for so many cookies. But there are some sites for which there is a good explanation.

I've heard that some babysitters take classes at local hospitals or community centers. What do they teach you? Are they worth it? Does it matter where you go to take them? (link)
They're definitely worth it, but it also matters on where you take them. Some only deal with common sense matters, others will help you with first aid and fun things to do with the kids. The more education you have, the better you will be at dealing with the unexpected, the more confident you will be at your job, and the more you can just relax and have fun.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Check the credentials and experience of the person running the course, and get feedback from people who have taken it. Go with your gut feeling; you might find that you will learn more by taking a first aid course from the Red Cross and a crafts course from the community centre.
