difference between miss, ms, and mz? (link)
Mrs. is short for Mistress and indicates a married woman. Miss and Ms. indicate an unmarried woman, where Ms. is the abbreviated version. Mz. is not a formal title, however pronouncing "Ms." as "Mizz" instead of "Miss" can indicate that you are unsure which title applies (because you are unfamiliar with the woman's marital status). Generally, using "Ms." (pronounced either way) is good in every situation, as many women (even when married) prefer the title "Ms." when working professionally.
