I recently bought an iPod Touch and I love it! :D I just don't understand how to connect to a WiFi network. :\ I've been trying for the past couple of days and it's really frustrating me. D: Please don't answer this question if you truly don't know what you're talking about... Does anyone know how to connect to a network? I've searched all over the internet, but I haven't found anything, or nothing has worked. I have a couple or few networks I see, but they're 'locked' and require a password. The thing is, what password?! I've heard it's like something that can be found on your wireless router or something? I don't understand it, I don't know what the password is? I've typed in several numbers/things I've found on my router but nothing has worked. (This is at my house) I constantly try to connect to a network, but all it says is "Unable to connect to ___ network". On one of my networks, when you press on that little arrow next to it, everything is blank. Is it supposed to be like that? Like the IP address, subnet mask, and router fields are blank and everything else too. I also see this other network called 'default'.... It doesn't require a password, and I can connect to it which is weird. I can't access the internet, or browse the app store or anything though... So if anyone can help me and/or explain WiFi to me, it would be a great help!! Thanks! (link)

To answer your first question, you are trying to connect to a network the right way, but the password would have been set up when the router was set up. The password could be absolutely anything, it doesn't have to do with anything on the router. I'm not too sure on the other questions, except that there are some networks that just don't work. I'm not sure exactly why that happens, but not everyone will work. Usually it has to do with distance; you're probably close enough to show that it's there, but it's too far to actually connect.
