I'm fifteen, a girl, and a sophomore. This guy is sixteen, a junior. Ever since my freshman year we've been REALLY close friends. We share almost everything with eachother, and we both help eachother get into relationships (like wingman stuff ya know?? haha) but were also there to help with the aftermaths. We've both gone through really bad breakups and helped eachother through by just talking and being there for a shoulder to cry on... well for me to cry on haha. Also, since we've been friends we've aaaalways flirted with eachother. Like, just joking around though. Cept I do sit in his lap or snuggle with him sometimes but we've been doing that since forever. The thing is, recently I feel more for him... We've both been single for a while. And through out our friendship we never really texted. We'd call eachother when we needed to talk or wanted to chill or something. And we still do that, but since about winter break we've been texting every single day. And I've always felt close to him so I can't tell if these feelings are just friendship or more, but I really do think they're more. It's just so confusing. He's really protective of me about other guys and I get really jealous with him about other girls but could that just be that we're such good friends...? I really don't know! I don't want to ruin our friendship, but it kills me to think of him with anyone but me... HELP! SIDE NOTE: During all of this my ex boyfriend has been trying to get me back, but that's a very long story as to why I CANNOT do that. Just trust me. Do you think maybe that's why I've been clinging to my best friend?? It doesn't feel like it but my friends have pointed that out... (link)

Well this is common... Happens a lot and to many people. Thing is, you have to sort out your feelings towards him and your ex. Think about it, first of all, do you have ANY feelings for your ex? If not then try looking into your "best friend" more. By that i mean, spend some time with him alone i guess and try to figure out if you actually do feel anything for him. If so, then step by step, when it's silent for a moment, make a slow move. Or while you're talking, suddenly just start talking with a lower voice, more silent. Say his name smoothly or something, then slowly kiss him and see how his reaction will be. If he freaks out, then tell him you're sorry and to just forget about it and explain to him what you're feelings are.
- This is just a faster way for you to know the answer to everything. But if you want to take it slow then i guess just show him that you like him slowly. But i would go with what i told you first.
And your friends can't know the answer. Only you do. So spend more time alone with him, and you will figure it out on your own.
