So I have JASC Animation shop, and everytime I make an Icon, it optimizes it or whatever and it makes it all weird. I was wondering how you change the settings on that. Please help, I'll rate you 5's!
What format are you saving your icons as?
GIF's are generally good for icons. JPG's are like for more color, like in photos. PNG's are really good quality but they do take a long time to load and they're very big.
You can also try going to Images --> Increase Color Depth, and then choose 16 Million Colors or whatever to increase the colors.
how do u make layouts for ppl? ive always wanted to do that! i love comps and art so this is like a dream cometrue! but ive asked everyone and dont know how to make them... can someone help me? i rate high if i get awsome advice!
As the person before me said, copying other people's layouts is a good way to TEACH yourself, but you shouldn't use THEIR code and pretend you made the layout all by yourself. I'm sure you know that this is stealing. Basically to make a layout you need a graphic program (like adobe or psp) and you need to learn how to code html and all of that. If you'd like to learn how to make Xanga layouts and if you'd like some cool codes, check out these two websites:
http://createblog.com/
http://www.blogring.net/
Good luck.
do you have a paid account? if not, how did you get all the extra cool stuff on your side bar?
No I don't. I had an account a while back when you didn't need a paid account to make a layout (or style) for your column. So during that time I made one (The one I have right now). Even though you have to have a paid account now to make any new ones, you can still edit the ones you made.
BTW, if you want "extra cool stuff" on your side bar you can wait until DangerNerd (Admin of this site in case you didn't know) allows HTML back into columns. Then you can put html and extra stuff in your side bar by putting it in your Profile Settings (http://advicenators.com/settings.php) where it lets you describe yourself.
Does AIM store your conversations?
Not automatically, no.
I have PalFun, it's a program that adds on to my AIM and one of its features is conversation logging. You can download it at http://palfun.com
Or if you're just asking because you're afraid someone's going to see your convos...no need to worry...you bad person you! ;)
I am doing a family website. I need to know where i can have a html that i can put in my website that people can go and add their information and/or read peoples information. Also i would like to do the same but with pictures. Add and/or look at pictures without signing in or too much labor. Thanks!
--Lotza Luv--
Ps. I googled it and yahoo.
This question seems familiar. Haven't you already asked this before?
There's probably no website with exactly what you're looking for. You're either going to have to make a website of your own and get people's pictures and info to put up FOR them or you'll have to settle with just a photoalbum, which you can find off of google and other search engines. The reason is because people might as well make their own websites rather than add to someone else's and even if they could add to someone's website that means ANYONE could and mess up your website.
If you're still interested in making your OWN website check out this question I answered before:

Hey, I just got Paintshop Pro 9 and I was wondering if you know how to make backgrounds on it or know of any tutorials I tried looking it up on dogpile but it just gave me pre-made backgrounds. thanxs...
~KeLs
Just dogpile? I suggest you try other search engines...like google, yahoo, msn, alta vista, even ask jeeves, lol. I don't KNOW any tutorials and I don't have PSP9. But I looked it up for you and here are just some I found. Try looking it up in different search engines next time.

http://www.nightshadowfx.com/backgrounds/aidatile.shtml
http://www.fortunecity.com/westwood/alaia/354/tutorials/marbling/index.html
Basically to make your own backgrounds you're going to have to play around with it. That's how most of the people that write the tutorials usually stumble upon a new way of making backgrounds.
Does anyone know any sites with good myspace layouts? Thanks!
Just search "myspace layouts" on google, and other search engines. It works. I don't use myspace, but I looked for some layouts and found a few right off the bat.

what are some really good popup blockers that are for free and work real good.. there are ALOT of popups on my computer
You could try out the Maxthon browser. Here's the link:
http://maxthon.com
I use it and I love it. It's basically the same as Internet Explorer, but it has some really nice features, including a popup blocker.
Or you could download the google toolbar. You can find the site here:
http://toolbar.google.com/firefox/index.html
Or you can download a different browser called FireFox. Not all sites work on FireFox.

What are some fun websites? For a 15y.o. girl? Magazine sites like: seventeen? Anything with like quizes? Just some fun stuff! Thanks! Good answers are always appreciated! I'll rate and leave feedback!:)if that matters to you:/

A cool forum with your own avatar (You can buy items for your avatar).
Does anyone know how to give a picture a "cartoon" effect using adobe or psp?
You could use Edge Preserving Smooth (or something like that) and play around with the numbers until it looks "cartoony". I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about, but obviously no one's given you an answer so I thought I'd give it a try. If all else fails, google it.
I want to put a GuestBook, or a comment box on my webpage, not where you have to click this link to get there, and blah blah blah, but where it is on the website and you type what you think and your done .. and its posted to the website ..
anyone know how to do this, or a place where it is simple to learn, or where to get a html code for it .. ??
http://saybox.co.uk/index.php?ref=pinkmist
I used this myself. Much better than the others because there are no pop ups or big ugly ads and whatnot.
If you want a guestbook check out this link:
http://getstring.com
i see people that have these things that say something and it keeps going .. like it will say "i love you" and it will scroll sideways, how do you do it ??

I definitely recommend for you to learn HTML. Maybe you know some HTML; maybe you don't, but there's lots to learn even if you do know some. There are a lot of free sites that teach HTML, so I suggest you do a google search on that. You can use premade layouts as a learning experience, but you should definitely learn how to do it on your own.
Does anyone on Advicenators have a clue about how to convert mp3 files to .swf or .rbs?
I have looked over the instructions for installing the radio.blog numerous times over the past day, and I still have not figured out how to do it. Normally, it's not this confusing for me, but I'm getting really frustrated with this.
If it helps any, whenever I've converted my mp3's by running convert64.bat, all I'm getting is a loud buzzing noise when I try to play the file. Also, the buzzing-noise file does not show up in the sounds directory where it is supposed to in order to be in the playlist.
You can find the site here:
http://www.radioblogclub.com
I've looked through the forums on the site, but sadly, I do not understand what they're trying to tell me to do. Nothing seems to work.
Help will be GREATLY appreciated.
- Sporkster
Hey sporky! I have a radio.blog myself.
Basically you just do this:
- Go into the create.sound folder.
- Paste an MP3 into this folder.
- Double click convert64.bat. A window should pop up and you just have to wait until it's done and it disappears on it's own.
- Your new converted files should appear...not in the sounds folder, but in the create.sounds folder and then you should copy and paste it into the sounds folder.
I have no clue why it isn't working if you followed the above steps and I'd tell you to ask the people at the forum, but you said you already did.
Are you saying it works, but the music files don't show up in the order you want? When you upload the music files into your host upload it into the order you want it to show up on your radioblog...that's the order they will show up.
If all else fails, follow this tutorial:
http://hannaxbear.shadows-the-sky.com/index.php?page=radioblog
Download the file she includes...there's a playlist file and you can edit it to put the songs in the order you want them to appear.
Hope I helped and good luck!
I'm moving soon and I want to give something to my friends to remember me by, like pictures and stuff. Do any of you have any ideas? Thanks.
I see everyone has suggested a scrap book for you, so obviously I won't suggest the same.
Have you considered putting together an online photo gallery? You could put it together and make it look all nice. That way it'd be something your friends could visit any time they want and it'd be something you can give everyone, not just one person.
You could also make a "memory" site, where you post some memories you've had with your friends. I'm sure they'd enjoy reading it.
If you like my suggestions and have no idea how to make a website, read on.
If you're going to learn how to make a website, I definitely recommend for you to learn HTML. Maybe you know some HTML; maybe you don't, but there's lots to learn even if you do know some. There are a lot of free sites that teach HTML, so I suggest you do a google search on that.
I don't know any sites that have a "site builder" so if you need one, I can't really help you. But if you're willing to learn HTML and use FTP and all that, read on. Everything is on the internet, so if you ever need help on HTML or FTP or something, just search it on google. I promise you even though it might get complicated or frustrating, it will DEFINITELY pay off in the end, and you'll be glad you didn't stick with a "site builder".

I don't recommend geocities, mainly because they have that ugly advertisement.

I have a xanga and I like it a lot. But I was wondering is there a way you can set it so that only the people you're subscribed to, or the people that are subscribed to you can read it? I have other people reading it and I don't want them to. Thanks.
http://help.xanga.com/protectedposting.htm
Check that out. It totally controls who can read your site.
What's the code used for taking off the ads at the top of an xanga page? I rate 5's to anybody that even answers - thanks =)
http://help.xanga.com/removebannerad.htm
Lol, I'm sure that wasn't what you were looking for though.
You could try http://free.hostultra.com/~htmlstuff/admover.html but every ad mover I've found either doesn't work or it only works for a bit until xanga finds another way to keep people from moving it.
Let me tell you...it IS illegal. If they find out, you WILL have consequences.
Not only that, but it's really unfair for Xanga. Why? Because they provide Xanga to everyone for free. How else do you think they are able to pay for all of it? That's why they have advertisements. Plus, it's only ONE small banner at the top of your page. Other sites have huge honking advertisements, and/or lots of them, and/or pop ups.
You of course don't have to listen to me, but I do hope you reconsider about using an Ad Remover.
I am new here and i have been looking at peoples advice colum and I was wondering how do you get those backgrounds and music on your colum?I alredy have an advice colum:)
I rate 5`s for good help:)
- http://www.advicenators.com/backgrounds.php
Those are three important links in customizing your advice column ;)
With style.php, you can choose the colors of your links etc and background. You can also choose which style to use, but they are premade and limited. If you actually want to create your own, you need a paid account now.
With settings.php you can enter some things where there is a bio section where you can type some things about yourself.
With backgrounds.php you can pick out a background for your advice column.
So yes, you can spiffy up your advice column, but if you want to make your own or use one other than the provided ones, you'll have to get a paid account.
Hey I was wondering, on my myspace, whenever I press "Enter" for a new line on my about me, It doesnt go to a new line...like I want it to be like this...
Example
Example
Example.....
but it ends up normal like
Example Example....
Could you tell me if there are any codes to make this stop? Plz n thanks...I'll rate ya
Well, that's because you have to use an HTML tag.
Example:
< br >
or < p >
Just try them, and you'll see the difference. And remember, take out the space. I only included spaces or else the code wouldn't show up.
I suggest you look up learning HTML or something (=
can anybody tell me how to get pictures on my web page.not only pictures off the internet but like pics i have at home. and how to make the words move
In order to get your pictures on the web you either need a digital camera or a scanner. I'm not going to get any further than that, because I can't teach you how to use them. Just read the instruction manual. Then you would need to upload them onto the internet. That part is easy. Here are some image hosting sites:
- http://www.mustangmods.com/

What do you mean, how to make the words move? You mean a marquee? If you want some marquee codes, check out this site:
http://www.wtv-zone.com/bluefox/marquee.html
Basically if you need anything else, just look it up on a search engine next time.
