We have had our dog since I was young, for many years. I mean, like since I was 9 and now I'm 16. My mom used to work nightshift but now she works dayshift, and my dog cant handle her not being here. She's worked dayshift all summer but we were always home, and now that nobody is home during the day we put her in a cage. The problem is she gets out of the cage!! Even when we tied the cage with a rope!

My mom closes her bedroom door during the day because she doesnt want Hero out in the living room, but she ripped up my moms carpet at the door and pooped and peed in her bathroom. This is like the 3rd time she's done it...and now my parents are going to get rid of her!! I dont know what to do...I love my dog and I dont want to get rid of her...but my parents dont like her anymore...I dont know what to do!! Advice please!

You and your parents need to understand that when you get a dog they become part of the family. Dogs feel lonely when the owners change schedule and they need things to help them get used to it. You and your family need to help your dog get through this. Give her chew toys and bones to help him curb her urge to chew and get out of his cage. When she pooped and peed in her bathroom, she was marking his territory and trying to get someones attention that she needs to be loved. She ripped up the carpet because it is something that could remind her of your mom. If you need to know more about this answer please write to me, I know a lot about animals.
