You don't really have to publish your own story. Many authors didn't get their stories published. So if you want to publish your story, I suggest you read it over and you decide if it needs publishing. I'm a writer myself and none of my stories got published. Just remember that you don't have to publish a story. You can but no one is perfect. The only way people publish their own stories is by reading it and checking mistakes.
