About devonede

Hmm. Well I'm a junior in high school. I know a lot more than people think I do, and I know I'm not certified to give advice, but I really enjoy helping people. I know I can make a difference in the world, and what better way to do it than one person at a time! I'm smart in more ways than one, and I'm very social and experienced in life. I think I can help you :]

Does anyone know good books for summer reading. And the books are atleast on a 10th grade or higher reading level...
Thanks anyways :D

If you're looking for something that will take a while to read and challenge you a little, you could try:
-The Book Theif by Marcus Suzak
--Another one of his books, that isn't quite as long, but still amazing is:
-I am the Messanger
Maybe you're looking for more "life-like" books that pertain to things that happen in highschool lives...you might like:
-This Lullaby (Sarah Dessen)
-The Perks of being a Wallflower (Stephen Chbosky)
Another great read is The Wish List by Eoin Colfer.
--And if you end up enjoying that one, you might like his Artemis Fowl series. (This series is strictly fiction and involves "faeries" and other things of that sort...but it is still a very good group of books)
Seeing as we're on very fictional books at the time, Tithe (Holly Black) is brilliant.
Some more interesting, but...strange...books are:
-Invisible Monsters (Chuck Palahniuk)
-Running With Scissors (Augusten Burroughs)
-Gingerbread (Rachel Cohn)
-Crooked (Tom McNeal)
-Massive (Julia Bell)
-Give a Boy a Gun (Todd Strasser)
-A Million Little Pieces (James Frey)

Here's a list of some other random books that I found to be quite good:
-Holes (Louis Sachar)
-Small Steps (Louis Sachar)
-Hoot (Carl Hiaasen)
-Life in the Fat Lane by Cherie Bennett (It's really not that weird)
-Speak Laurie Halse Anderson
-Tending to Grace (Kimberly Newton Fusco)
-Girl, 15, Charming but Insane (Sue Limb)

I guess it all depends on your favorite genre of books, but I think I covered a few categories.
I hope I helped out a little bit, have a good time.
-Devon
