An American of British and Northern European descent, I reverted to Islam in 1986. A year later, I was formally introduced to and married a Muslim, and came to live in Saudi Arabia. I have taught Islamic studies both here and in the US. Currently, I teach English language and literature in middle and high school, and do some writing on the side.
