Hi (:
does anyone know any places where you can volunteer to go help in africa but at the age of fourteen ?
You can start by building bridges of understanding, right from your own home. There are programs that connect people, called "People to People" initiatives. There's even an organization called People to People international ptpi.org and they organize trips to visit other countries -- it's all about cultural exchange and understanding.
So, you're not an adult yet? You might have to look harder, but with the right support from parents (and there's always that parental waiver form), there are numerous church groups that travel overseas to build schools and do other good works. My niece traveled with her church (so do a search "volunteer church groups africa" (or wherever you want to go) and write to the group. Ask if there is an age minimum.
From your home you can start by contacting people over the internet (with parental supervision, of course). My web site www.BuildingInternationalBridges.org, has a list of procedures that you can follow to begin teaching English over the Internet, even via SKYPE or msn messenger or Yahoo messenger. If you need more suggestions, write to me at roadloversguy@gmail.com. Your spirit is in the right place -- we need more open-minded teens like you to prepare to be open-minded adults.
