i'm 15 and i've struggled with bulimia for like 2 years. i was just wondering if people ever truely overcome them and don't do it anymore?

i mean i am not nearly as bad anymore because summer wasn't very stressful, i didn't over eat because i was at my friends house all summer so it was good. now i'm back home, back in school, and stress is back. family problems are also getting worse, so to deal i use bulimia. it may sound weird but it feels like a release. i don't want to let go of it.

also i just always have my mind set in it. like even if i'm not throwing up as much i still think about the calories, when someone says diet i think that means i shouldn't eat, and when i'm walking i think about the calories being burned. it always invites itself into my mind.

so do people ever really get over this? i have a feeling i will be this way the rest of my life. (link)
honestly, no. you may overcome it to the point where you can eat and keep it down. but you will most likely always be more ocnscious about what and how much youre eating and your weight..etc etc. but hey if you can completely get over it, more power to ya because i know i cant ha.

Hi, um i have been making myself throw up quite a lot after meals lately. I dont binge, but i do throw up after nearly everything i eat. Im normal weight for my age, (15-female-58kg-163cm tall) but I cant help thinking that all my friends are WAY more skinny and beautiful than i am.. I just want to be like them..
I need to lose weight. I want to be skinny too. Noone really understands why i want to be skinnier though. This is the only way thats even had a small chance of helping me lose weight though, so..
I havent been doing it for very long, only about 3 weeks and only about 2 or 3 days a week.
What should I do? (link)
no offense to the person who said youre faking it, but dont rush to that conclusion. you said youre not sure if you have this disorder or not, hence asking for advice. I would say you are in the early stage of bulimia, in which stage it can be controlled and stopped far easier than if you wait a year or so. Im going through this too, well.. except its been since the summer b4 7th grade [im a sophomore now] I dont binge either, but i wont let myself take in more than 200 calories if that a day. and i still throw them up. pleasee ask someone you trust for help, its easier than you think.
