First I would like to point out that I'm not as ghostly white as my picture looks. I actually have a really nice tan. :)
Hey, I just read this for the first time in a long time and I realized I sounded like a complete female Rainman. Anyway, I'm pretty much amazing, haha. I love to help people out with minor or major problems, so you ask me anything and I will answer it to the best of my ability! My favorite topics to give advice on are DEBATE, FRIENDS, POLITICS, MUSIC, and SPORTS (a recent thing!). I'm a typical Texas (college) football fan. That's pretty much it, so get to asking questions and stop reading this! :)

Lately, I find myself listening to the same bands over and over. I'd really like some suggestions for new bands to listen to.
Anything similar to:
The Rocket Summer, Mayday Parade, The Used, Just Surrender, or This Providence.
I'd prefer bands that are more unknown, too, because I know a lot of better known bands.
Thanks =] (link)
|
I LOVE Mayday Parade.
Other great bands are playradioplay!, houston calls, as cities burn, zebrahead, jack's mannequin, less than jake, brand new, the higher (amazing), the secret handshake, sky eats airplane, wecamewithbrokenteeth, rehab, the unicorn project, and the classic crime. That's all I can think of right now.
EDIT: I saw The Higher and he sounds EXACTLY the same live as he does on their CD. He's amazing. I really want to see Houston Calls, you're so lucky!

Can someone give me an honest opinion on what they think of my voice?
http://www.garageband.com/song?|pe1|S8LTM0LdsaSjYFe3a2k
here's a clip of me singing a whole new world. (link)
|
You sound young. Start taking voice lessons (to improve, not because you're bad) and I'm sure you can sound great! You have A LOT of potential, so keep it up.
|
Hey, I absolutely LOVEEEE this band and I recently found out that they are coming to my town, the only problem is I dont know if my parents will let me and my friend go. At times, they can me strict and a little protective....Are there any suggestions any of you can think of to persuade my parents to let me and my friend go see the best band in the whole entire world....lol
Thanks in advance,
Spoolie21 (link)

Let them listen to a song that you think they would like. My dad is really strict and I wanted to go to a Green Day concert, so I had him listen to one of their songs and he liked them so he let me go. You could also tell them it's a once in a life time opportunity and they are your favorite band of all time. Tell them there is security at the concert so there is no need to worry about your safety. Good luck! :)

How can i get thousands of people to listen to this...
http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=15060904
and comment me on how i sing? (link)
|
You sound really good! With some voice lessons, you will be even better. I'm a vocalist myself and I have improved my range a lot since I started taking lessons. You sound a little nasally and you tend to drag your words and notes out, but with a tiny bit of work you will sound a TON better! Keep on singing, you sound awesome.
If you want to get thousands of people to listen to it then post it on youtube. That's pretty much the only way you can get a lot of people to listen to it.

does mylie cyrus lip synce? on her show, it doesnt look like she does, but in clips from her concerts on tv, it looks like she does. (link)
|
She probably does on the show, but in real life I'm almost 100% sure she doesn't. She's Billy Ray Cyrus's daughter so she has real talent (whether it's her natural sound or she has a voice instructor). Just look how big her dad is! He's just plain amazing and doesn't lip sync. :)

please don't tell me to google it because i tried already
In the episode of Degrassi called the Bitterest Pill, there's a song playing through the last six minutes to the last two or so.
Some lyrics are
"If i were to die today, my life would be more than okay/For the time i spent with you..."
"All the time that I was holding back/Just trying to protect myself/I want you to know I loved you more than[somethihng]/Say what you will before its too late/say what you will/[something]/and say what you will before its too late say what you will[something]/If I were to die today/my life would be more than okay."
What song is this? (link)
|
The song is Say what you will by Damhait Doyle
OH and guess what... I googled it.

are cameras allowed into the honda civic tour (fall out boy, +44, the academy is, and cobra starship)?
thank yyou!! (link)
|
Cameras aren't aloud at ANY concert, but there is a way to sneak it in. Okay what you do is (if you're a girl) put it at the bottom of an empty make-up bag and fill the rest of it with tampons. I did that when I went to see Green Day and they opened it up just looked at it and closed it-they didn't find my camera. If you're a guy then get a girl to do it for you. If they find it they will just tell you to give it to them until the end of the concert and you can pick it up after. :) Good luck!

i need some really greatttt rock songs. i don't really want a bunch of oldies but like 2000-now rock songs would be great. Things like "click click boom" and "i hate everything about you" by three days grace. Those sort of rock songs. No punk please. Anything will do along those lines! thank you!
P.s. i do like a lil screaming but not the whole song. (link)

m going to a fall out boy concert in late june,i dont know what to wear,i mean i only wear hollister and a&f, i mean its not like i wont wear anything else, its just they fit so i wear them && they are cute but anyways i really dont like black but what do you think i should wear? (link)
|
Obviously jadoretiffanie hasn't been to a concert. Don't wear a band tee to a concert-it's a big concert "no no". Wearing a band tee is like wearing a big sign with neon lights saying "I'VE NEVER BEEN TO A CONCERT IN MY LIFE AND I REALLY DON'T LISTEN TO THIS KIND OF MUSIC, I JUST WANT PEOPLE TO THINK I DO." Just wear something you're comfortable in, but DON'T wear flip flops. Just wear jeans and a cute shirt that you wont be messing with all night. Have fun and don't worry too much about what you should wear, it's a concert no one is going to be judging you on what you wear they will be listening to the band rock out. Have fun and be comfy :)

If you already tried out for american idol and made it far into the competition but didn't win, can you try out again? (link)

hands down- dashboard confessional
remember to breathe- dashboard confessional
even fairy tale creatures would be jealous- playradioplay
your gaurdian angel- the red jumpsuit apparatus
who needs air- the classic crime
here in your arms-hellogoodbye
chasing cars-snow patrol
some people-leann rimes
but you two shouldn't look for a song.Wait for the right moment, it will make it more special than just picking a random song.

There's this song called "Simple Gifts" that I will have to sing solo soon. I am a saprano but it's hard for me, though i've sang this way for years. I am more comfortable in alto. I can't switch because my teacher says if I expand my range now I will become an excellent singer someday. When I sing the song the high notes seem to be too high for me. Can somebody here please help me find a way to hit higher notes better? (link)
|
lift your soft palette (it should feel like you're yawning) and open your mouth wide like you're biting an apple.
make sure your eyes are lifted, it actually does help.
Do warm ups before you sing, go up the scale.
Ask your teacher about the "yawn sigh" warm up.
Don't let your jaw tighten up, relax it by moving your head from side to side. (not tilting it like you're going to pop your neck by like you're looking to the left and then the right)
make sure your feet are shoulder width apart, you're standing up straight, and you're breathing from your diaphram and not your chest.
when you sing the notes sing in your head voice, hum before if you have to so you know what it feels like.
vowel shape is key!
maybe instead of singing the words first, you could write in the syllables (do re mi etc..) and practice that until you're comfortable with the words.
Drink warm water before (cold water tightens up your vocal cords)
do some stretches before you sing and get relaxed
don't tighten up your shoulders, they should be rounded and relaxed.
maybe do a couple of breathing exercises before.
Hope most of that helped! if you have any questions about any of this just drop them in my inbox.

i am going to a concert this saturday. its kind of pop-punk i guess. i really want to stand out in the crowd. what are some cute things i could wear. and are there any cool make-up or hairstyles i should do? (link)
|
ok first off, don't wear a shirt with the band's name on it, it's kind of a concert "don't" and trust me, I've been to many concerts. You can always reconstruct a shirt. If you have a shirt you think is cute but boring do this to it:
-first, fold the shirt in half so there is a line going down the back of the shirt
-then, cut into the shirt about 3 inches
-do this all the way down the shirt with 1 inch wide strips.
It should look like this:
___
___
___
down the back of the shirt
-after that, cut the strips in half and tie them together in knots.
OR
You can take 2 VERY different shirts, cut part of one off diagonally and the other the same way and then switch pieces and sew it onto the opposite shirt.
For your hair, if it's layered, get either wax or pomade and flip your head over and put a TINY bit all over your head except for the top of it and straighten it out so the layers seperate. If your hair isn't layered, put your hair half up and in a sloppy bun. Maybe put in some temporary colored hair dye? (not all over your head, just a few streaks or tips)
For make up, wear BRIGHT eye shadow (that matches your shirt or that looks good with it) and black eyeliner on the top and bottom of your eyes.
If you have any more questions then feel free to drop them in my Inbox!

In choir, we're singing the song "For Good" from the musical Wicked, if you know it. We had an audition for the solo at the beginning ("I've heard it said that people come into our lives.....but I know I'm who I am today because I knew you"). I had practiced singing it in a head voice. But I forgot that if I sing longer than 45 minutes, I can't sing any lower than the E above Middle C in a head voice. The director, suprisingly, called on me first, and I remembered that it had been 2 hours, and I definitely couldn't sing the low B in a head voice. So I had to sing it in a chest voice. In front of the whole chorus. Being a soprano, I have barely any experience singing in a chest voice. Nobody has ever heard my voice alone except for the director, so I was scared shitless. I was shaking all over the place, and I sang horribly. It was just awful. The director was totally suprised, since she knows about my stage fright woes. And the other girls did much better than me. The director knows I'm a good singer, but my audition was ghastly.
I'm sooo embarassed. What do you guys think of this situation? (link)
|
same thing happened with me when I was auditioning for a solo, but I'm an alto. There were 19 other girls auditioning for the solo in front of everyone so we were pretty nervous. I knew that most of the girls did better than I did. Since my director knew how I sang, that I was nervous, and that I had been practicing the part she gave me the solo and told me to work on my stage fright. She said she knew I would do much better on stage night and was a little surprised that I didn't do so hot. SO I think you are going to be fine and if your director knows how you sound she will take that into consideration when she is choosing who should sing the part. Don't sweat it, if you don't get THAT solo I'm sure there are others to come.
(key to getting over stage fright, imagine you're by yourself and nobody can hear you but you and the director and don't tense up!)
Good luck!!

what is better for music for an ipod :
ares or limewire.. and why (link)
|
I use to have Limewire and it made my computer crash from all the viruses it gave me and it's extremely slow, it took me almost 2 hours to download 3 songs. I haven't used ares though. Don't do morpheus either, it gives you viruses.
|
Ok, I like to sing.. and Im pretty good at it(not to be concieded or w/e) but I have the worst stage fright and everyone gets mad when I dont get up in front of ppl and sing.. Its like my personality I am really outgoing and crazy if I know you and am comfortable around you, but if I dont know you Im kinda shy and everything..how do I overcome this!? (link)
|
I know EXACTLY how you feel. I had the same problem. I got into a theatre class and it made me A LOT less shy infront of people. Then, I tried out for my schools Tempo choir (top choir, have to sing 2 songs by yourself for auditions) and I overcame most of my stage fright. Just sit your parent(s) down and sing to them.. or just sing really loud in the car and turn the volume down a little lower each time you sing until you can barely hear the song but keep singing really loud, louder each time if you have to.. then do it infront of a group of people until you're over your fear. OR you could go do karoke somewhere.?
