I'm trying to grow out my hair, so I've tried to reduce the amount of heat I use on my hair. Some nights before bed, I braid my hair (while it's still wet so it will be wavy the next morning). In the mornings, I used my wet to dry hair straightener to dry the braids before I take them out. Could this be damaging my hair? Thanks in advance for all answers! :) (link)
Too much as well as prolonged moisture does damage your hair, as well as heat. Not getting your hair trimmed at least once every 3 months is also damaging. Growing your hair is a very long and difficult process. (Trust me, I know) The best thing to do is try to reduce how much heating you do to it, such as hair straighteners, hair dryers, hair curlers, etc. Also braiding your hair while it is still wet, and not fully dried can damage your hair as well. It is safest to wait until your hair is dry before braiding or any other hair styles that require it to not fully dry. Also, be sure to get it regularly trimmed to ensure any damaged ends are removed to ensure healthy hair growth. As these can easily worsen as time goes on if left unmanaged.
