Hi, this is Kate. I'm 17. My life motto is 'Live Laugh Love', I really think those are great words to live by and I'm planning to have it made into a tattoo. I'm not religious but I love learning about different religions. I write stories based on things that have happened to me because sometimes I have days where I just think 'wow that sounds like something out of a book'. I've finished 3 stories and I'm about to start my first horror story..very exciting. I believe in fairy tale love...the kissing in the rain, staring at the stars on the rooftop kind of love..Why? Because I'm in that kind of love and its been the greatest time of my life. And it didn't come easy.
I'd love to help you with whatever issues come your way. I've been in relationships where the guy was too old for me, the guy was my best friend, the guy just wanted to get some. I've been the other woman but I'm not proud of it. I've been the girl who waits years to be with the guy she wanted.
I come from the type of home where everyone seems okay and then when everyone leaves its chaos. My parents should have been divorced years ago and I can't stand to be around either of them so for now I'm going day by day, only coming home to sleep and counting down the days until I go to college in August.

I'm 18/f and have wanted a tattoo for quite some time.

I've always wanted a short quote along the side of my foot, and there are only 2 things stopping me.

I'm not very pain-tolerant, and I know the foot is one of the most painful places to get a tattoo, and the easiest to get an infection. I've done my research. Also, the quote I used to want is much too long to get on my foot.

So here are my questions:

Does anyone know and good, short-esque quotes you could get tattooed along the side of your foot? [If you've seen a tattoo you think is awesome (small tattoo!) and it's not a quote, feel free to share that too]

And, just in case I decide that I'm much too pain intolerant to get it on the side of my foot, what are some other, less painful places to get a quote tattoo? Make sure it's a place that can be easily covered when I enter my career (I'm in college to become a teacher).

I'm not going to get one unless I'm positive, but there's nothing wrong with getting suggestions.

Thanks!

When I turn 18 I will be getting a tattoo on my wrist that says "Live.Laugh.Love" in an arc form. It's the quote I live by so it means a lot to me. I know a girl who has about 6 tattoos all over her body. She said the ones on her wrists didn't hurt, the one on her foot hurt the most, the one on her hand (the squishy part between your thumb and the rest of your hand) it just felt weird but didn't really hurt and the one on her lower side, the biggest tatt she has, didn't hurt until they got to the hip/pelvis area.

I think a song quote would be neat, not everyone would know of it. If you're religious then maybe something related to that. There's a design for The Tree of Life, that I might also get. You can always make up your own quote. Just make sure its perfect. I took at least a month designing my tattoo. Then I drew it on with a pen to get used to the idea of having something permanant on me.

I hear you on the issue of needing it to be coverable. If you have long hair then a tattoo on your upper back can be hidable. I have a neighbor and for at least 6 months I never knew she had a tattoo because she has hair halfway down her back but then one day she wore it up with an open back shirt and she had a HUGE tattoo all across her back. There were a lot of teachers in my school who had ankle tattoos and you didn't see them until the summer when they started wearing skirts.

Thanks. You have a lot of good suggestions. And I was thinking of getting a henna tattoo where ever I choose to get my actual tattoo because I know they last a while and it'll give me an idea of what having an actual tattoo would be like. I'm nervous about what I'll look like in 50 years with a tattoo... I don't want something crazy and wrinkly... but by then I won't care anyway, haha
