Q: 14/F
I'm five feet tall and weigh about 117 lbs. It's not that bad, considering I have muscle on me, but I also have partially larger thighs, upper arms, and a gut.
My question is, any tips on losing weight?
I want to get a flat stomach, or mostly flat stomach, by summer and I want to lose at least 7 lbs. I know you have to do aerobics, running, etc. etc., but is there any other way to make the process faster?

Okay, what I'm about to tell you may be different than what you've heard, but I'm speaking from a biological standpoint and also from personal experience.
I'm pretty sure you'll have people talking about doing exercises to lose weight, but that's a lot of hard work!
One week during winter break, my family and I went on a cruise and I totally PIGGED OUT! (24 hour food service, heck yeah!) I would think I gained weight after eating all that food for a week, but a couple days after I got home and weighed myself, I lost 8 pounds!
It might've been my metabolism but I don't know.
However, there's a biological explanation for this. When you're living your life and you eat about the same everyday, you have what's called a set point, where your metabolism is the same and digest food at the same rate. BUT! If you change the amount of food you eat for a period of time, your "set point" changes a little bit. THEN! When you go back to your "regular" diet, your body thinks it's not getting enough food because you've been putting all that food in your body for that period of time, and thus, you lose weight.
Voila!

I rated you high because I thought your explanation made some sense, but there were some parts that confused me. I totally dig that you gave personal experience! Not many people do that. Haha, but when you said, "If you change the amount of food you eat for a period of time, your 'set point' changes a little bit." Did you mean by eating less and then going back to your regular diet after a bit?
