Me and this guy definitely like each other.
He just got out of a year+ relationship so he doesn't want to go out with me. He doesn't want others, or me, to think that I'm just a rebound.
Still, he holds my hand in public and he kissed me on the cheek and the forehead when we last hung out.
He's acting like we're going out, so why won't he ask me? It's like the same thing...right?
He DOES want to get to know me better. I guess that's a really good reason, too.

I've been in the exact same situation before! He doesn't want to rush things with you and possibly screw them up. Just give him time, he'll ask you out eventually [:
