My dr gave me a Rx for a weeks worth of Medrol to help with swelling. Would it make me gain weight, even taking it for a short time? Is it going to have any type of lasting effect on my metabolism after I'm done taking it? I asked me dr if it would make me fat and she just laughed and said "no, not just for a week." I'm pretty little, so she wasn't worried, but even if it would only make me gain a few pounds, I still want to know! If anyone has taken this, or knows anything about it, that would be great. Thanks! Steroids only boost your endurance, they don't add weight to you unless you work out your muscles while on them. They cause you to work out harder than normal, making your muscles tear more than normal, which makes them repair more than normal. (this is how muscles grow) and you have nothing to worry about :]

thanks for the advice, but it's not really accurate. steroids increase the amount of cortisol in your body, which causes you to gain weight. that's why people gain weight when they are on steroids. thanks anyways though.
