This is the kind of IHome I have and I was wondering how you work the alarm? I do not have the remote control. Is this what I need? (link)

no, you do not need the remote..
one of the buttons says "alarm set".. hold that down and then use the right scroll to adjust the time for the alarm. then press alarm set to save it.
you can change what you wake up to (ipod/radio/buzzer) by pressing "wake to". the front screen will show which one you choose.
and to activate it you press "alarm on/off". so for example, on the weekends you don't want it to go off just press it. and as soon as you turn it on again it will use the time you set it to previously.
the big long button is snooze, obviously.
