Q: i am 14 (i turn 15 next month) and i just got my period this year. i always used pads but recently i have been using tampax pearl regular tampons. i have three questions:

1. is it normal to feel discomfort while inserting a tampon? i.e. a tiny bit of dull pain.

2. is it normal to feel discomfort while removing a tampon?

3. would it hurt if i used super plus tampons since i just started (and have only used) regular sized tampons?

any help would be greatly appreciated! thank you so much!
1) It is normal to feel discomfort until you get used to it. Sometimes people misjudge where to put it in so instead of naturally gliding it in, they'll push against a wall.

2) I never felt discomfort while removing a tampon, but I suppose perhaps you could feel the friction while removing it if it's too big for you or too dry.

3) If the super plus is too big for your hymen, then yes it might hurt. But I'll tell you that I started my period a week before my 17th birthday. And it was HEAVY! I needed a super absorbent plus tampon along with the thickest pad I could find, and that's with changing the tampon every two hours! (It lighted up thankfully) But what I mean to say is that I was able to somewhat comfortably wear a super plus during my first cycle. I think you just have to get used to it!

I hope this helps!

thank you so much
