Ok, my family all have the same design of cell phone and it's kinda ugly. i want to get a new one but i don't know how to ask. we have enough money so i don't see why my mom says no. i also want texting and my parents know but they won't give it to me. any advice about how to persuade them? 14/f (link)

If you do chores, or anything to make a little bit of your own money, maybe try talking to your Mom and Dad and let them know that you can help to pay some of the cost of getting a new phone. 99% of the time, it works! Give a little, get a little.
As for texting, most plans have text add-ons where you can pay an extra $5-10 a month for a set amount of text messages. Ask your parents if they'll pay for one month of texting, and then you can show them that you're responsible by not going over your limit, that might break the ice a little bit.
