especially for comebacks, does anyone have any tips on how to be witty?

yea
stuff that really helped me is watching tv shows with witty people on them. for example the fresh prince of bel-air. will always has some sort of comeback and ifyou cant get that on tv look it up on youtube. you also can watch stand up comedians on comedy central. or read up on winston churchill. he was a master of wit. for example a woman said to him:

"winston churhill, if you were my husband id kill myself"
and he said
"and madam, if you were my wife,i'd let you."

winston churchill is famous for his quips and clever on the spot wit google it :)
