For a few years now, I have suffered from paranoia. It has been controlling my life, and it is annoying. Some examples are:
1. I am terrified of germs. If I leave a water bottle in my room even for 5 minutes, and I come back to get a sip, I wont drink it- in fear that someone else has sipped out of it. This even happens when I am home alone.
2. At night, I wake up and go to the door and turn the knob twelve times, and then I push the lock back and forth for one minute.
There are also other odd things I do, but that is beside the point. I was wondering, is it paranoia? How can I control it, so it does not control me? (link)
My grandmother has OCD with germs. She washes doorknobs and then thinks her hands are dirty after she has touched them if she touches any portion of her food with her hand she will eat around that part and then throw it out. Wikipedia defines OCD as:
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric anxiety disorder most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive, distressing, intrusive thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or "rituals") which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

You may or may not have this though it sounds about right the ticks you have are the germ thing and then you have the ritual with the knob. If seen where people wont go into a room without walking in and out a certain number of times, and if they mess up they start all over. I would definitely talk to parents about seeing a doctor(if under 18) these things can be controlled so that they don't control you :) hope this helped.
