okay so my parents wont let me go on the mission trip at my church to build houses for the indian people. my pastor is paying for me ($50) because i dont have the money to go right now. well when i talked to my mom about it she asked my dad who said no. but i really really really want to go because i love helping people like that. its over spring break (5 days) and my pastor and almost all the grown-ups from church are coming (which is A LOT) but she (and he) still wont let me go ! how do i convince them to let me go ?????
any help is GREATLY appreciated ! (link)
Well respectfully talk to them about how important it is for you to go, and explain exactly what you would be doing there, and how you would be helping people, to alleviate their fears about you going away for a week. Wining wont get you very far, so try and reason with them. another part of it may be that the pastor is paying for it. Ive never liked having someone else paying for something i need and i cant imagine your dad is happy with having someone else pay for the things you want, altho bringing that up to him is probably not the best idea if you want to get on his good side. just be positive and honest but remember in the end, "Honor thy father and thy mother" its their decision, and if they wont budge then you'll just have to respect that. Maybe you can find something to do for your own community while your on break.

Also Kudos to you for taking such an active part in community and world relief instead of going off to party, America needs more good kids like you.
