My Husband and I set a limit for how much we would spend on Valentines day for each other and he went over almost double. We cannot really afford to spend the original limit set already and I am really upset with him. I don't want to ruin our valentines day, but I am not happy.
two questions, 1.how should I react when he gives me his gift. 2.Is it okay that I don't spend what he spent and keep to the limit?
I would have rather he spent it on something we need and I have been telling him that. (link)
Dear valentiner,
For your first question, I think that you should accept the gift, and just tell him how you feel about how much he went over. Don't get mad at him, just let him know how you feel.

For your second question, It's fine if you don't spend as much, if he really loves you, he won't care about the gift, as long as he is with you on valentines day. Besides, its the thought that counts, right?

You're right, the thought is what counts. Thanks!
