a 1300 calories diet and one hour of exercise will help, but you will not be losing 3-5 lbs a week. In order to lose 3 pounds a week, that's 10,500 calories total burned. That means you need to burn 1500 more calories than you consume everyday. (10500 divided by 7=1500) Your BMR is your Basic Metabolic Rate, which is like how many calories you would burn if you did nothing all day. Say yours was 1500, plus the 500 that you would burn doing exercise. This means that everyday you are eating 1300 calories and burning 2000, which means you are losing weight by 700 calories a day, i hope your following this :o
that means in one week you will lose about 1.25 pounds per week.
3-5 pounds per week is not an extremely realistic goal. I think you should aim for 2 pounds a week. Add another half hour of aerobic activity and eat about 1200 calories a day.
good luck!
