Ok ive always had a gross brown neck.. even when i was little. And for one i dont know what that is either and now that im growing up im getting it inbetween my legs, armpits and even in my elbow! but now i have abrown blotch on my lower cheack! ive tried getting it off and it feels like dry drool only its brown.. my older friend said something about brown skin and another about it being untreatible but nothing else so it wouldnt scare me but what is this????? It sounds like a skin pigmentation disorder called acanthosis nigricans, defined as the darkening and thickening of the skin, particularly in the armpit, groin and back of the neck. It could be a hereditary problem or it could be an indicator of another condition, so I would definitely see a dermatologist. Treating it is usually done through treating the underlying cause, but microdermabrasion and laser treatment can help. But please, get it checked out as it can be an indicator of both benign and malignant underlying conditions, that should be treated as soon as possible.
