My name is alix. I'm fourteen &i live just moved to massachusets. i love all of my closer friends; theyre my life. i like cats, and my favorite food is soanish rice. i like going to the movies with all my friends; we do it every friday. it's a routine. i love giving advice about guys, but what i really love are questions from guys about girls. im really opinionated, but im usually not very harsh when i answer things. advice
One of my friend's computers crashed the other day and she took it took it to a computer shop and they said it crashed from Myspace viruses (from certain profiles that were implanted) So my mom told me i couldn't go on nymore because she doesn't want that to happen to ours. But i REALLY love Myspace and i want to go on it really bad. Is there any way to avoid these viruses? I know most of them are coming from fake profiles, and i only go on the profiles of my friends that i know, so i wouldn't just browse thorugh random profiles. Can i still go on Myspace without that risk if i just go on the people that i know?

Get a good virus protector and firewall, but that's still not going to completely block it. And it's not true that they're from fake profiles; a hacker wouldn't need to make a fake one. He could simply jack someone else's. So being careful isn't really going to help all too much.
And this is kind of separate, but I just thought it was worth saying anyway. But it's just some extra something, not really part of my advice...:
Myspace is kind of deteriorating. No one really likes it anymore(that is, no one in high school or above), hackers are definitely taking ahold... it's all kind of a mess. So if you're in high school, I would definitely tell you that you should get a facebook. Just because there is seriously no way to get a virus off of it, really. It's simpler, and there aren't a billion things to download every time you open a page. It's really a lot better if you want to protect your computer. So if you're old enough, just give it a try and see how you like it. Because if you like it, then it's definitely worth giving up myspace for.
