Well I'm a Freshman (15 years old) in high school and I took the ACT for the first time ever. I got a 19 on it and I was wondering if that was a good score for my age and all. So is it good or should I have scored higher? (link)
considering that the ACT is a lot of trig, physics, advanced language, and advanced bio and technology...19 is a decent score for a freshman. But if you want a higher score, you might want to take it when you are a junior so you won't waste money for the test your sophomore year. It just helps more when a junior because you'll know more because you're either in the classes or have aken the classes. And it also depends on how good the teacher is at teaching mechanisms.
My freshman year, I earned a 26 on the ACT..that's because I had a lot of advanced classes and our school holds practice sessions for the ACT which helped a whole lot.
I didn't take it my sophomore year because I knew that my junior year I would know more.
I took it this year in October and I earned a 31.
It just makes much more of a difference if you know the stuff. I improved my score because I knew more my junior year than I did my freshman year.
And the ACT is out of a 35..but you have to be a super genius to get that..lol
Hope that helped..
