I would highly recommend that you get your ears pierced professionaly because it could be dangerous if you did it yourself. Your ears could get infected very easily and it could be more painful if you do it yourself.
However, if you insist on piercing your ears yourself, make sure the needle is sharp enough. Burn the tip of the needle to sterilize it and have a sharp pair of earrings on hand. Make sure you also own antiseptic for your ears (Claires sells it). Use ice to numb your ear and hold an apple in the back so the needle has something to go into. Be very careful and make sure your ear, the needle, and the earring is clean. If you can, get a friend to assist you. Be very careful and again, I highly recommened getting your ears pierced professionally, it is inexpensive an doesn't hurt other than a small pain and tenderness during and after for several minutes but it doesn't hurt that much. It will hurt more if you do it yourself.
