Q: I posted another question a few days ago about my Dad. But, for I think four or five years, I've been praying that my Dad would stop yelling. My mom has been praying since the day I was born that he would stop. He cusses, screams, you name it at me and my family. I can't take it. I'm crying typing this. I thought God answered all prayers. Why can't he answer this one?

Been there, done that. It didn't get any better for me.
What I ended up doing when the yells and cursing was going on - I softly stated that if he couldn't converse in a nice manner, then I don't need to hear it. Then walked away, either to my room, took a walk outside or to a friends house.
God hears prayers, He wants you to prosper and be in health in ALL things. 3 John 1:2
But God doesn't come down to Earth and change people, your Dad has to take that step. Free will power and all that jazz.
But you can take the next step. Sit down with your mom, dad (both, either) or write a letter stating that you aren't comfortable in this envirnment and you feel (yadda, yadda, etc)
Next neither parent may not be up to changing and verbal abuse leads to physical abuse. Talk to a family member, a teacher or a counsler to see what your options are for other housing.

Thank you. Oh, I left something out. I've tried talking to my mom before and I was like, "Yeah, um, what he's doing is called verbal abuse." And she just laughed at me and walked away. Anyways, thank you VERY much.
