I apoligize if this is in the wrong catagory..

I support PETA's campaign, stating not to wear real fur, leather, and wool. However, I do not know if some things that I own are real leather, or just fake leather. I do not own any leather clothing, but I do have leather binders for school.

I REALLY don't want to use real leather, so I would like advice on how to tell the difference between real leather and fake leather. However, they won't tell you on the product most of the time, so I can't do that.

Thanks (link)
for the binders- it is pretty unlikely that they are real leather, so that's probably just plastic. As for everything else, things like sneakers and belts may have leather . It's usually softer than pleather and smells less syntheticy. other than that, when buying things it's difficult to tell whether it's leather or pleather, but you know that if it's really expensive, it's probably real leather.
