many guys ALWAYS act different around their guy friends bc they dont want to seem too "mushy-mushy" or not masculine enough in front of his buddies bc of fear that they might think he's "whipped." This isnt fair to you though, you shouldnt be treated nicely only when hes around you! If he plays these games, then he's not in it to win your heart. My advice is to confront him about his feelings alone and find out if he likes your or not. If he says yes then bring up the fact that it doesnt seem lke it when hes around his friends. Unfortunatly, guys still act different around his friends even in college and beyond, it sucks, but thats why you have to find someone that is willing to show off how much he cares about in public as well as in private.
