Q: For baseball, if there's a runner on first base and the batter strikes out on a wild pitch that hits the ground, can he run for first if the runner is stealing second?
Thanks.

The batter can ONLY run if he's hit with a pitch(a walk), gets 4 balls & walks, or hits a ball and its not caught on a fly. The runner at first can steal a base no matter what, usually.
If the ball is caught on a fly though, the runner would have to go back to his base or he could be thrown out.
But as for the batter, if he struck out, thats it. No more pitches/swings & no running =]

Wrong, I already knew the answer to this. If the third strike was dropped or hit the ground, the runner can run to first but can be tagged out or thrown out on the way. The answer is no by the way, because the base was occupied at the time of the strikeout.
