SORRY THIS IS SO LONG i have a problem with my parents and my sister.well im hispanic and black but im adoubted(not sure if i spelled that right)and my parents are black but my moms kinda light but anyway.im 13 and have dated a fair amount of guys and ive started to have an attraction to white guys and my sister/parents tease me and i hate it.they teased my last boyfriend who was white so thats why i didnt tell them about my boyfriend i have currently because he is white and they would tease him and me.i couldnt keep it in and told my sister and because of some people at school my dad is starting to get suspicious.he thinks i just have a crush on him.then so did my mom and my sister showed her a pichure of him and my mom went off on teasing him.then she asked me so you dont like black boys anymore?then we started aruguing and i got so mad that afterwads i broke out cring because i felt that i cant date a race i want becuse my parents are so judgemental.their not racest because theyve never told me that i couldnt date a white person.im still dating that same guy but still havnt told my parents because i know that the insults will start flowing.i hate having to keep a secret for the reason that i am but i just dont see any other opitions.any advice wuld be very helpfull.thanx (link)

Hi, you should simply confront your mom and dad and tell them that you do like this white guy because... then just leave it be. It would be up to them to decide wether or not to accept it or make fun. If you think about it, if your parents are teasing you about it then they fail to see what your relationship with the other race is like. I think it's good that your mixing well with the other race because it proves that you are coperative and don't let that get to your mind even if the guy is white. You should ignore your parents really and just get on with things. Just remember that you decide who you go out with not your parents and only you can decide if you want to mix with the other race. If your parents can't see that you are happy being with white boys then they have probaly got a huge problem. All though the blacks and whites don't particularly like each other but it has improved alot over the past forty odd years. Daniel.
