Hey, in a few days I am going to Oregon and will be staying in the Portland area for a week. Then I'm going to San Francisco for a week. I was wondering if anyone knows of some interesting things to do in those areas. Like, not the typical tourist stuff. Do they have any music fectivals or concerts? And where are the best places to shop.
By the way, I'm a 15 year old girl if that helps.

thanks.

I don't know really know anything to do in Oregon, but I know a ton about San Francisco.

I don't know any concert venues in San Francisco, but a great place for concerts is the Greek Theatre in Berkeley. You can find tickets for their shows here: http://www.ticketmaster.com/venue/229421

Shopping in San Francisco is GREAT. I would recommend going to Macy's, Urban Outfitters, and H&M- their San Francisco stores are all enormous. You can find H&M on Powell Street or Post Street, Urban Outfitters also on Powell Street, and Macy's is on O'Farrell Street. You could also check out http://www.sanfrancisco.com/shopping/index.shtml

I know that Pier 39 is technically a tourist-y place, but it's still really fun. There's great food, some cool shops, and even a Merry-Go-Round :)

If you can, I would seriously recommend going to Oakland and Berkeley while you're in San Francisco. They have awesome shopping! If you can go to Berkeley, you can just wander around Shattuck Avenue, Bancroft Way, and Telegraph Avenue and you'll find the awesomest stores. There's a really great Urban Outfitters on Bancroft :)
If you get the chance to go to Oakland, you should shop on College Avenue. There's a store there called Crossroads Trading (there's also one on Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley) that has the best clothes, some of which are used, at extremely low prices (I got my favorite belt there for $4).

And if you still get bored at any point, there are tons of huge movie theatres in San Francisco :)

I really hope I helped! Good luck, and have an AWESOME time!
