I got the sims 2 a while ago and everytime i want to get the kids into a private i can never get accepted. I dont really understand how to serve the dinner and then make them all eat together, so i never get points for that. If someone could explain steps on how to do it that would be great.

Make sure you have enough chairs! Thats always important. Having more skill points in cooking is a plus. More skills= better food!
