I think you should sit down and have a talk with your friend. You guys should both agree to not go out with this guy if he ever asked either one of you out. Your friendship with this girl should be a lot more important than going out with this guy. Friendships will always last most of the time, but relationships with a guy will not. If you happened to go out with him your friend would probably be very pissed off, and it would definitely ruin your friendship. Since you like him so much, you could talk to your friend about it, and just explain that you really would like to go out with him. That'd be better than her finding out later on down the road that you guys are going out, and you didn't even ask her for permission(if you happened to go out with him). You need to just think about whether you want to keep your friendship with this girl you have right now, or take a chance at ruining it to go out with this guy(which won't last most likely).
