Do you have to use itunes?

Yes, you do. The CD to put it on your computer will come with your Ipod. You need iTunes to put the songs on your Ipod. If you don't put itunes on your computer, there is no way of putting the songs on your ipod :)

I think you mean get songs from Limewire and transfer them to Itunes. And YES, that's what you do :)
